I started on my "Beals" like Euroarms. Thing is I kinda like this look:

I was going to use the lathe to turn the rammer round to a point right before the new abbreviated web, now I'm not sure

You know the Kirst is "semi authentic" so why not this look also?

I could use that pin! I have a pistol that someone tried to fit one to and it is terrible!

The rammer is stronger still (by a long way) than the pins holding the linkage to the bullet seater, And at least twice as strong as the Beals. The weak spot is always going to be where it transitions from round to square (at that shoulder). More than likely the reason for the longer web was two fold. More strength and smoother holstering.

There are some slight differences in the pivot points on the web (for the linkage) from manufacturer to manufacturer and from the NMA to the Beals. I have another rammer that seems to be more "round" (actually the pin is higher) and I'm working on it now. It's not a simple job to draw file and sand that curve keeping everything flat!

I posted a response this morning, but it seems to have disappeared into cyberspace.  Looks fine.  I am shortening a 58 and decided to make my rammer lever look more like a Remmie 1890.  Was gonna turn it round, but like the oval look better.  When I shorten it to match the barrel, I'll only turn the very end round.

I have had that same cyber-problem with this site too!

I have a Pietta 5 & 1/2 incher and don't like the rammer/web as it is all out of proportion :-\
I'm gonna tackle it next.

Let's see some pics of your project as you go along, OK?

Steel Horse Bailey

VERY nice, Joss!

I like the blocked portion of the rammer a.l.a. Beals, too.

That looks good, Joss. Nice work.
