I have been using Trail Boss and 158 gr. round nose in 38's for 6 months. Most are right on and they feed well in the levers. It sounds like others have identified areas you need to check, one at a time to see what is happening. I have used the 3-3.8 grain and they work great, so my guess would be a loose wedge too! :-[ Slugging the barrel is always a good idea too. :-\

I think there may be some confustion here reading the responses. I think he is shooting 38 OT (opentops) not a conversion blackpowder revolver.
I read somewhere that TB is not the best with 38s and smaller rounds like it. Have you tried another type of powder? Checked for a burr at the end of the muzzle? End of the cylinder?

Also, check the measurement at the end of the cylinder and compare it to the muzzle dia. If its smaller than your muzzle, then you are shooting an undersized slug. This is the case sometimes. Good luck. DM

Solved my problem ...or at least turned things around. Worked through all the items posted and seem to be settling down . One of my problems seemed to be an inaccurate powder measure and was dropping about 3.2 g instead of the 3.8 . Made adjustments and started to worked at a POA with this model .
It is an OT Cimmeron .38 cal . The TB works well . 3.8 loads in the Marlin ...she loves em .
Thanks for the help ..will work it out.
