Ill saddle up and ride with you boys- have to get a big horse, though, to haul both me and a .40-60 and .50-95 around. One under each leg, I guess. Both Chappies- love em.

Wahoo! I finally got my '76!  Its an Uberti .50-95 with 28" barrel.  I'm still in shock at how beautifully it is made.
Grizz - thanks for hosting this forum, I've learned a lot reading through the archives.

Howdy Grizzly
I would like to be included in the Winchester 1876 Membership Roster.
As a matter of qualifications I am the proud caretaker of an original 1876 produced in 1882 in cal 45-60.  28" Octagonal barrel with the original ladder sight and silver blade on the front.  I have them carefully tucked away in the gunsafe and am using a Marble's tang sight with extended adjusting shaft and a globe front sight with a fine cross hair insert.  It wears a well earned, I'm sure, brown patina finish as does the sight blank in the rear dovetail.  Loading these days is with a full case of Goex Pinacle 2f and a 300gr bullet with SPG lube.  Rifle was purchased from my optometrist, at the time, who said that her great, great...grandfathers brother shot Buffalo from a train with it.  I will take her word for it.  We settled on a price of $800 and the rest is history.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Honest Henry
;D is this what all 76 owners/shooter look like?

Forty Rod

Don't know how I missed out on signing up.  I bought a Charles DAILY for a great price from CDNN (Remember the spelling error?) back many months ago.

Very good rifle with a minor problem:  the lever safety spring seems to have come from the rear suspension of a 1946 Dodge Power Wagon.

Two minor "cosmetic" issues, but she shoots like a dream...when I can squeeze hard enough to get that dang safety to release.  (Guess I'll take the time to remedy that issue.)  The dand
g thing is so heavy the recoil isn't even bad over twenty or thirty shots.  Them it becomes an annoyance.

Like all of my rifles, I will change the sights out at some point.
