I guess this is a good way to introduce myself!  Hello from a new 1876 owner.  Weapon appears to be a 45-60 cal with a fully octagonal barrel.  Barrel length is a little confusing to me.  I saw where the Express model had the octagonal barrel but was 26" long.  Hopefully I can post a couple of pictures here and you all can help un-confuse me.

Looking forward to learning about this gun.  Hope I'm in the right place.

Uberti 1876 in 45-60 with 28 inch barrel. Also pictured is my 1873 in 357 Magnum.  Please add me to the list.

Looking for 45-60 loads brought me to this site.

Wolf Killer

Hello,
You can add me in, I have two of them in 45-60, the full length rifle and the Crossfire Musket.
Love them both, but I need to find a boy to rest on his shoulder that 28" barrel when I shoot off hand, as my old back can't hold er steady
anymore.

Love to see that smoke!

Charrie67,
Better late than never.  The model 1866 was discontinued in 1898.  All rifles, carbines and muskets were .44 Henry Rim Fire caliber, throughout production.  The only exception was a lot of  just over a thousand carbines shipped in the early 1890's as .44 Henry Center Fire caliber.  This IS NOT the same as .44-40.

Hello Pards, have'nt posted for some time....I currently own 3 Chappy's , a 40-60, a 45-60, and a 45-75 w/22" barrel...all are great shooters....I am currently looking for one in 50-95, I do my own gunsmithing so I don't mind taking on one that has some problems....as long as I know what they are.. I purchased each one for less than $600, the 45-75 I gave $475 as it had some issues...took about an hour and a half to smith it...Let me know what you have.....Thanks and Adios for now

ahhhhhhh ya shouldnt be allowed to post prices like that  :'( ......well done ... I wish there was some of them cr@ppy chappies floating round the shops downunder --- a fixable decent looking 76 with a three digit price tag on it ? would be like winning the lotto!
Do ya mind tellin what ya had to do to that 45/75 to make it right ??
