Done!  Welcome aboud otis luther-brown!

The secret is a photo bucket account. ;)

Open an account with PhotoBucket.
Upload photos from your computer to PB.

To post a image on this website and most other, hover (I use a Mac - with PC it might be a right click) your cursor over the small cog looking iron on your thumbnails, and select "Get Links."  Click on the "IMG" link - the bottom one.  This copies the image in a format you can post as an image on another website.

Next, start a post on this site.  Place your curser where you want the pic, and and paste the code you copied from photo bucket.  That's it in a nut shell.  :)

Please add my name to this distinguished list.  Yesterday, I took delivery of my Taylor's and Co. 1876 Winchester Centennial rifle in 45-60.
I've been building guns for my whole life, 14 yr. to 65 yr. anyway, and I know a good one when it appears.  This is one of the finest!  I'm just delighted!!  Now to load some cartooshes, and see how she shoots.  being Canadian, I bought the rifle from Ellwood Epps in Barrie Ontario and landed at my door I paid $1638.10.  It's probably tacky to speak of money, but I just wanted to show how reasonable this rifle can be acquired here in the North.
When I was a young fellow, I collected an original that needed some work to the linkages, but was able to find original parts, and so made it work.  In a weak moment, I sold it, regretably, so it feels great to have a brand new one.  This one won't slip away!

Thank you GA!
My brother, who knows infinitely more about reloading than I ever will, helped me load some cartridges.  I cast a bunch of bullets from a brand new Lyman 457122 HP mold...came out at 345 grains in my alloy which I figure is around 25:1.  I lubed/sized them with SPG to .457" and loaded them over 44.5 gr. of IMR 3031.  My Chrono gave me an average of 1800 fps with a spread of 28 fps., so I'm pretty happy.  No signs of excess pressure.  But when I cleaned it, I had to remove leading...my alloy is too soft for than velocity.
Now I have a bunch of cartridges loaded with that same lube/sized bullet and 60 grains of GOEX 2Fg Cartridge black powder.
Regarding the rifle, I confess that my eyes can't see the sights well enough to shoot for a group, so I've ordered a Marbles Improved tang sight with accessories from BACo.
The rifle performed flawlessly, and is remarkably smooth for a new rifle.  I've downloaded the instructions of slicking the '76, and will make some modifications to make it even better.
Great rifle!!

Hey Gabe - you ain't done tol' me if'n ya want them .458 HP bullets.

When the bird chuckers gets picked up, I'll put 'em in the box.

PJ, I'll give Eddie Blackwater the cash for the lead.  Thanks for those.

Please add me to the list.  Got an original Winchester 1876 in 45-60.  I'm planning to start loading some blackpowder cartridges as soon as Jamison starts making their brass cases again.  I've had this 1876 octogonal barreled rifle for about 36 years and have never fired it.   What would the best grade of black powder to use behind a 330 gr Gould hollow point cast bullet?  What primer, standard or magnum?

Howdy Southfork33,there is a lot of information on the 1876 Winchester here.I am sure you will enjoy shooting your vintage Winchester. In my original 1876 Winchester's I have tried Goex and Pyrodex and Swiss bp. I have had the best groups from Swiss 2ff ,but the other two powder's did very good also. For primer's I have used the Mag. primer's . But now use standard Winchester LG rifle primer's. Hope you get the old Winchester out for a shooting session. It will be a Blast I am sure of it . PS. We all would like to see a pic. of that old girl,,,,,,Dusty

Thanks, guys, for the info on the powder and primers that you use.  I just checked the serial number on the 1876 Winchester and it is 3980X.  Guess that's a fairly old one, but hopefully after Winchester had started using steel receivers.

Tommy Reb

Just acquired a Uberti '76 in 45-75.  Would appreciate being added to the roster.
