I"m joining the group too. Should have my Uberti 1876 22" 45/60 by Monday evening. I'm also looking at a 50/95 28"" model Uberti, which I'll no doubt pick up, just because they look so cool. Beautiful guns - I'm gettin' ancy! Will post pics when in hand.

I finally got both guns in and took a few pics. Here's one of them side by side. The carbine is 45/60. The 28" model is in 50/95. One is a Cimarron and one is a Taylors, respectively. The only difference I see, other than bbl length of course, is the printing on the top and side of the barrel. I prefer the Cimarron model for that reason - but they are both nice!

Still waiting for warmer weather and ammunition!

Very nice rifles there, brassmagnet!  I also have one of the Cimmie 76s in 45-60 with the short barrel.  Nice balance! 

That 50-95 should be a real hoot to shoot!  Hope your weather warms soon so you can go shoot those beauties!

Thanks Grizzly Adams. The carbine is definately lighter and swings better on target. I thought they both balanced out very nice, and I almost like the longer barrel if time permits aiming longer.

These guns sure are sweet. Heavy, but sweet! I'll let ya' know how the 50/95 shoots when I get some ammo for it. I'll rate the "hoot" from 1-5!

Just a FYI. I talked with Cimarron this afternoon to see if they had received any shipments of the Centennial, and I was informed they do have some 45/75 models in stock again. Not sure how many, but I am sure it's minus one 'cause I jumped on one right away...another caliber to start accumulating data for

While looking over the Shiloh website, I came accross this one. I Like old guns, especially Winchesters. I have a few of each, but I do have a real liking for the 1876. This was last weekend at the Kalispell gunshow in Montana...



This is one of my originals in action on the plains of eastern Montana...

A picture of a rock pass in eastern Montana, with names and dates back into the late 1800's...



Bigger game with a Deluxe 40-60. One should go better heeled in persuit of animals of this size...



I have hunted and killed most types of Montana big game at one time or another with original Winchesters. I like the idea of this site, I think I will check in once and awhile.

Sign me up! I just added two Chaparral short rifles, one in 45-60 and one in 50-95 to my collection, and I can't wait to shoot them! The 76 has always been my favorite Winchester. I had two originals back in the 70's but had to let them go years ago. These will just have to do until, or if, I ever get another original.

Hope mine looks half as good as that when it arrives. Bought it yesterday, waiting on shipping. Hopefully be here next week! Discovered finding brass & bullets is some work. I will be reloading for it.

Hot Dog, it arrived! It's better than I hoped for - pretty sure it's brand new! Now search for some very light duty loads to start off with. Don't think there's 45-75 snap caps to test the action and trigger pull

this is my Chappie made in 2006. What do you think - is this artifical wood or is it just a nice woodstock i got?

Concerning the toogle links - for me they look because of the design stronger than other designs - what do you think.

And suprice my Lyman no2 from my 1873 fits concerning my thumb better than the special ordered 1876 no2 sight

Here are two Uberti Model 76 Winchesters. The top one is mine, in .50/95, while the bottom rifle is my brother's in .45/60. Both are good shooting rifles.

Yes - you are correct, I need a wooden case for the rifle, so it sits straight up and down. I also need one for my Sharps.  My brother built one for his Sharps and it is a super case, giving total protection to the rifle and sights.
