I have an idea!

What does everyone think about including Colts in this section, since USFA and Colts are so close to each other, and Colts don't have their own section?  I am sure those of us who love USFA love them because they are so perfectly matched to the original Colt, and more than likely we own both.

Fine by me, but I am not sure Gary Granger would like that.  :D

Fine by me to. Would be great to see a complied value chart especially on second generations. No doubt the prices would vary across the different parts of the country.

Doesn't bother me.

Creating a Colt SAA section is a great idea!
I'm new here and have wondered why Colt does not have a section?

I have both Colt and USFA single actions and it's hard to find a good
website/forum for either one. (except here for USFAs)

Be looking forward to a Colt six gun section.

This board was set up for USFA shooters and collectors exclusively. It was requested by USFA owners. It is our place to go.  If you let Colts in, then you are going to have to allow Ubertis, and then Piettas. If enough folks want a Colt board, I am sure Marshal Halloway would be happy to oblige them. But for my 2 cents, leave the USFA board alone.

Colt SAA's would have there own section, wouldn't they?
That would be better than allowing Colt and USFA to share the same section.

We have a section for Ruger, Spencer Rifles, Remington Revolvers, Schofield Revolvers,
Buffalo Rifles and the 1860 Henry.  Why not Colt Single Action Army's?

In the real old west there were probably more Colt SAAs than all the above put together?

A Colt SAA section is a good idea.

Kinda Sudden

If someone can start a Colt sight, I can throw in the first sticky, a list of serial no's to year of manufacture. Ok, no more Colt talk!

I apologize to the moderator, I did not mean to stir trouble.  But it is kinda nice to see people talking again.  I can see the point and agree that one section should remain focussed on one item.  Believe me, I am not trying to dilute how people think about USFA.  I absolutely love USFA firearms, and I have put my money where my mouth is.  I was just thinking out loud since USFA's are the closest thing to the real Colt's of the First or Second Generations.  Or is it the First and Second Generation Colts are the closest thing to USFAs?

No trouble, Doc. It don't hurt to express ideas and things. :)

One reason that including Colts on this board, that would not be good, is because we do have a link to this board, on USFA's site.

We (USFA owners) have taken such a beating from other Colt owners (present company excluded) that I do tend to be a little thin-skinned when it comes to our board. I have sent documented dimensional comparsions that prove that they are wrong with their theories that a USFA is more of a Uberti than a Colt,  to some, that absolutely refuse to believe the truth. I have been working on Colts and Colt replicas for over 25 years. I am a machinist by trade, I know what I am talking about, but those folks would rather believe someone that probably has never seen the insides of a USFA.

Anyhow, that's pretty much my reasons.

Don't think there is any need to apologize to anyone , Doc.  You did manage to get some action going here on the board and that, in and of itself, make your post worthwhile.

Ok I need clarification.  You are saying USFAs are closer to a colt than Uberti right?  Your posting was a bit cornfusing to me.

Sorry Don, guess I got in too big of a hurry and omitted some wording:

Absolutely!! The max deviation between parts and hole locations (true positions) between Colt and USFA are very small, and could be accounted for by manufacturing tolerances. We're talking less than .020 ( 3 human hairs). Dimensionally, you do not get any closer to Colt than a USFA. Period.

Banjoman, step in here if you like.
