JUST CAN'T DO IT!   Sold one of the other three, and possibly the AK.  I will just have to make it work.  I can't part with it. Guess I will just have to use the Spencer as a house gun to keep the goblins at bay.  I see the headlines now "Home invasion robbery thwarted when bad guy shot with Civil War rifle!"  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If it was good enough for Wilder, I guess it is good enough for me!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome, and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming...."WOW!... What a ride!"

Very tempting TL, but I ain't hardly broke in the Spencer rifle I got from you the last time!

No, I am not leaving SSS.  Just after I got my CA and IL property taxes squared away, I got a panic call from my youngest daughter (31, married, and has our grandson).  She got a property tax sale notice on her business,  My wife and I talked her and her husband into moving from CA to IL with us (and in fact gave the $40,000 from the sale of a rental house for the down payment on the business (a small sports) bar as a bribe.

They have been open only four months, after 6 months of permit BS).  They are already starting to be able to pay all the bar bills and themselves a little.  Property taxes in IL are different (and much higher) then CA, though.  Ten days after your due date, they give you 15 days to pay or they sell your property on tax lien.  No wonder no one in  Illinois is delinquent on their taxes.

ANyway, she needed money, I talked her into opening the business, and I just tapped out on my own taxes.  I hopefully won't have to sell the Spencer, as I also have other guns for sale on STORM and in Gunbroker. It is "conditionally" for sale, I guess.

Storm?  Not familiar with that one.  Where is it?
How many of the reproduction Spencers have you owned?

Tuolumne Lawman

Storm is another forum on CAS City for Open top Colts.

I have handled and fired many as a dealer and staff writer for Cowboy Chronicle.  I personally owned (DROSed to me) One rifle and two 56-50 carbines. I have also owned several originals in 56-56.  I'd rather shoot my foot than sell this carbine, but one does what one must.

How do I identify your listings on Gun Broker?

Howdy,

I just sold the 1860, but still have a very nice Romanian AK with Tasco optical sight on a side mount, bayonet and (5) 30 round mags and a pouch.  Also I have a nice 870 Remington 12 ga with 20 inch Rem factory rifled barrel w/ rifle sights, mag extension, etc;  and  a 28 inch barrel for it with several remchokes.  The listing numbers are: 85911894 and 85988889.  Both are listed cheap.  If I get them sold along with the 1860 which is sold, I can keep the Spencer!
