My nephew has a set of spurs that were my granddads. They are at least 85 years old and look like they were home made. But the leather straps are all shrunk ripped and ruined. He used the spurs to ride in the reenactment of the Pony Express ride last year. He wanted some new straps to look like the old ones. So after about 10 patterns I decided maybe these might look close to what they looked like originally. But I can only find 1/2 spots, not 3/4. If you know where I can find some let me know. After I made them I thought I would make the bride and myself a couple new pair also.

Hi Buffalo,
Here is a link to Hansen's Leather. They carry all kinds of hardware. They have the 3/4" spots in nickel plate but not in brass.

That 3/4" spot might have started out as nickle, a lot spots and concho's, were nickle plated over brass, over  time the nickle can wear off, to a point , you would never know their was nickle on them in the first place. Nice work on the spur straps, I think your Granddad would be proud.
