Slim, them turkeys are probably out there trying to hitch a ride somewhere where it's warmer,  did yer mom and dad gone back to Arkansas?

45 here light rain on and off, we got the insulation put in the curtains of the turkey houses, we have to do that from the outside so we're sitting here by the wood stove trying to dry out and warm up.  ;D

kinda thinking a good BBQ dinner would warm us up a lot better.  gotta wait till 4, they close up from 2 to 4,   give the waitress's a little break,    take a siesta or something and then again, Brown's catfish down to Russellville don't sound bad either.  but it don't open up till 4 either.

when Jackie and I moved here we wondered why so many places closed from 2 till 4,  now we've just kinda grown accoustomed to the way things work here, it's a lot slower pace than most places, don't nowbody get in to much of a hurry, if someplace don't open right on time, they'll be there in a little while and when closing time comes, they'll wait for ya if you call and tell em you need something, most of the places around here where we buy poultry supplies will come down to their store if you call em at home after hours or on the weekend and spend however much time is needed to get ya running, never mumble a cross word,

feels kinda like home.  ;D

I'm not sure if they are back in AR. They left Marshfield on Monday to go to Superior to visit my mom's aunt. Then, they were going to MN to stay with my brother a day or so. Then, to Olathe, KS to drop off my niece.

OK, got you in my thoughts and prayers on that.

It's going nippy here. Probably get below the temps last night. As ong as the sun is out, it'll be tolerable. We may have rain coming Mon or Tue. It's already raining in Monrovia (kinda near LA by an hour or so), according to our friends there.

Slim, The Outfit that you new hat came from in Fort Worth is still there. They have moved to one of the Suburbs of Fort Worth(Haltom City, Texas).  I don't have any of their felt hats, but have worn several of their straw hats.  I went to the Rodeo at Cheyenne, Wyoming and bought a hat from them at the Rodeo. I didn't know that they were selling hats up there. I asked the guy for a hat in my size. He handed it to me and I looked at the sweat band and started laughing, he asked why I was laughing. I showed him my Tarrant County Sheriff's ID and he laughed too.  Fort Worth and Haltom City are in Tarrant County.  Enjoy the hat, those kind and hard to find.

Good luck Slim, finally got a chance to get on, been puttin' stuff away and had a customer pick up a special order and that took a bit since he's also a good friend.  Had his fake Thompson out with the drum on it when he came in, but we put it back in the box for him to leave the store.  Told him to stop by at 9pm and jump in the back of the pick-up and we'd curise O St (Oh, not Zero ;D)
and see what happened. ;D

Oh Terry and I took some pitures with it with us and the drum on, might be a few days afore I get them up.  Lookin' at a new connection at home, both cheaper and better.

Worked on a quilt most the day for Rita's cuzzin' for Christmas, one of them with some special memories in in.  Flannel top, a late uncles flannel shirt that hun in his mudroom for years worked in and some from some of Rita's old flannel nighshirts worked in.  He's been a big supporter of her through this.  You can get a lot of quilt pieces out of a 5X one.  h and a couple pieces left over from mine and some other odds and ends.

BTW Labradors are really lousy at tyin' notes in quilt ties and they don't have enough sense not to run with sissiors. ::)  Like puppies, but will be glad when he reaches two and settles down a bit more, he's getting really good, but new things like that sill seem to be play. ;)

Mom had to have Teddy, her 13 1/2 year old Rat Terrier put down last night, knew it was comin', pretty hard though, Dad got him as a companion when he retired and really was Dad's dog, Teddy has had a hard time of it since Dad passed on. :'(

one of my indians was on the warpath this afternoon ::) >:( Kept me hoppin' trying to keep the sub on the route, and his little butt in the seat :P Finally had to park beside him and keep the red release button covered with my hand. Just about lost my voice again ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Thanks pards.

'Tis 6 degrees and clear. I cleaned out the stove pipes and brought in wood. I'll start the fire when I go back in the house.

Slim, good luck withe the interview  ;D

just got back from eating,  we opted for the catfish house, we hadn't been there in a while and they got a Lowe's down at Russellville and we needed a few items,  got some wire to hook up the temp probes in the turkey houses,  couple of 100 amp breakers just for having around and a Dewalt cordless impact wrench, been wanting one so I don't have to carry ma extension cord with me all the time to use the impact.
