Years ago when the Uncles were all younger and we all got together, we always went out in the afternoon hunting. They are talking about high 30's some wind and maybe snow flurries tommorow anf Thurs. I have all day off tommorow also. Weather should be just right to get the Chinese Chickens to hold nice, perfect for a young dog in training.
I've talked to a lot of guys over the years who had mighty fine pointers, but had never been around them danged things. Drove em nuts cause they don't play fair and hold, a good pheasant dog tries to trap the bird between him and the hunter, drives some guys crazy though to have a bird flush and come strait at them and then over them, that one is almost a gimme for me. I've had a lot of practice on them. BTW all the BS you read in the gun mags and huntin' shows about how tough they are and how hard they are to kill is BS. Just hit them good and they come right down and stay there.
