I'm here at verk, kinda slow right now, been here 'bout an hour, been talkin' with one of the bosses and the guy in tack.  Just talkin' 'bout stuff, stills and shotguns. Tysce thinks he wants to build a still, guess I migh help him a bit. ;D  Anyone know for sure the legal limit for one for personal use, I think it's 50 gallons a year.

They don't understand why I am lokkin' for the right double 12, well it's simple, I want to convert to huntin' my birds on the Darkside afore the grandkids get big enough to borrow my little 28. ;D

Mornin', folks.  I never been over here, so I thought I'd drop in fer some coffee.  I'm also excited to share with ya'll my decision to go warthog.  I'm not one to walk the fence on issues, I figger if you're gonna do somethin', get right in the middle of it.

There are some drawbacks to my basic warthog setup.  I'm gonna be real slow at cas matches requiring more than one shot.  And reload costs are pretty serious. I think I can cut costs by using wheel weights. Along with wheels, hubs, odd scraps of iron, etc.  The plus side is that I'll never worry about knockdowns, and even the blindest spotter isn't gonna call a miss on a good shot.

This is a pic of my first warthog gun.  My father-in-law is looking it over.  He's impressed by the caliber but a little skeptical that I'll be able to aim it well.  I told him it don't matter.  Given my choice in projectiles, close enough is good enough.

Ya'll know any cheap suppliers of powder?

Glad you decided to stop by for coffee.  The solution is simple, build your own, the Pottasium Nitrate is the expensive part and is 75% of it, but I know I have a book or two that tells ya how to make it out of Poop.  Lots of good sources for that cheap, ya know any dairy farmers down yer way or someone that runs a doggy roll patrol or pumps septic tanks? ;D ::) :P

I'z in the house. All I was accomplishing was getting wet. Snow is starting to cover the ground. Temp is 29. All I saw moving were birds and snow.  ::) If the snow lets up, I'll go back out.

I have 2 mutts who are prolific depositors of pottasium nitrite in its primal form.  I could probably go into the back yard right now and get enough for a few practice loads.   ;D  Maybe I'll up the food ration and see if I can stock"pile" enough fer a match!

I just got the following tidbit from my state Senator via email. "The DNR (Department of Natural Resources) estimates that there are as many as 1.8 million deer in Wisconsin, which is 70 percent higher than their target population number.  Last year hunters harvested about 500,000 deer."  ::) Their current strategy is going to fix the problem? NO!  >:(

Went back out at 2:15 when the snow let up. Didn't see hide nor hair of a deer. Tomorrow I'll go to the other end of the field into the woods.

looks like that'd be a good way to deer hunt, but then if ya killed one, ya'd have to get out and skin him,  :o

Howdy, pards. I was up and out early. Gunshow, motorcycle show. All around a great day.

It was a good show. I picked up some odds and ends that I've been needing. Nothing spectacular but piddly stuff. A friend of mine got a 10 ga model '87 shotgun for $1500. A bit pricey, but a really nice gun so it was worth it. He's a collector, not a CAS shooter.

The motorcycle show was fun. My wife bought a helmet to keep in her sidecar. All the new Harleys look great. The other brands are too over styled for my taste.
