C'mon Ladies and Gentlemen!   :)

If I can come to Muster all the way from North of the Medicine Line, it shouldn't prove impossible for y'all to make it there!

I've been looking forward to the Grand Muster all year, especially since I wasn't able to attend last year and Bvt Col Pitspitr was kind enough to shift the dates, but as of Thursday all my plans have come to naught.

I will be briefing the Secretary of the Navy on Friday, 3 October, and then shortly boarding an aircraft bound for the big sandbox.  With luck I'll only be gone a month, but the timing couldn't have been worse from my personal perspective.  I was given my "warning order" a month ago (just as I put in my leave request), but the dates were only tentative so I hoped they might shift enough to allow me to attend the Muster.  No such luck.

So, to all those who are able to attend!  Enjoy yourselves.

To all those uncommitted, please attend.  The Grand Musters are a lot of fun, and offer some of the most enjoyable and challenging shooting stages you'll encounter anywhere.

Aaaarrrggg! Oh No!  :o I was really looking forward to seeing you again (and counting on you to represent the GAF if The Marshall needs interviews for "Cowboys") If it's any comfort, We're all as dissapointed as you are. :-\

Hmmmm...Grand Muster or Iraq?  Decisions, decisions, decisions....   I sure will be glad when I retire in about 18 months!

A month ago, the mission to Iraq didn't exist, but now it does so the remainder of the year for me are going to be "interesting" and extremely busy to say the least.

You can try.  Unfortunately, this little job I have to do has to be done before he leaves office (orders are to get as much done before the election as possible).  I doubt he'll be elected for a third term so time is getting short.

And, I was looking forward to some of that mighty good chow you serve up!  Plus the socializing and shooting.  Right now, this trooper ain't too happy, but duty is duty.

And that doesn't even guarantee you'll be able to make the 2009 GM :-\

Have you made any decisions on where the 2009 Muster will be?

I'm at the mercy of the Secretary of the Navy.  This particular investigation I've been working on the last 8 years has kept me from attending the Grand Muster both last year and this.  However, recent events the last few weeks give me hope that the Navy will be closing the case pretty soon within a few months.

What irritates me is that I tried to get this mission done in the spring, but bureacracy works slowly when it works at all.

Well, Rats!

Unless we can find a couple from Indiana to share expenses, we can't come.  Our Big 5 Attendees (original count) dwindled down to 4, then 3, now  2 and that just doesn't work.  :(

Not as of yet.
In the past the muster has stayed in the same place for 2 years, but there's nothing that says that this will have to happen in this case.

I just received word as of this morniing that the Valley County Historical Society has invited all of this years participants to take part in their "Anachronistic Ball" which will be held on Friday evening. Admission to the ball will be included in the Muster registration. I'll have more information by the first of next week.

TEXAS SARGE

Pitspitr,

Texas Sarge here, just wanted to ask a couple of questions.  Last year after the Grand Muster I placed a request for three spaces in the barracks and you confirmed them.  Well there will only be two coming from South Texas, Scooter and myself.  The entry forms and fees will be mailed out on Wednesday.

Without going through all the old posts I wounder if Delmonico could tell us which meals he'll be serving and what day may we arrive and stay in the barracks.

Also what class would a Spencer Rifle be in that is chambered in 44-40.

Thanks

Texas Sarge

Pitspitr

The Spencer is a Mil-Spec Repeater
We're serving all meals. When would you like to arive?

There will be supper on Thursday night, we will be packed and leave Lincoln early in the morning that day.  a head count for Thurs supper would help.  BTW that is the only meal I've planned for sure, that will be Chicken Fried steak because we can do it as needed as folks show up later if need be.

As always if there is anything folks would like to see on the menu's be sure to speak up.  (With in reason, if you want fresh boiled lobster someone is gonna have to toss some extra cash in the kitty. ;D  BTW a dish that was servedat times  in the period on the plains, thanks to the Rail Road.) ;D
