One stage will feature 7 rifle shots at approximately 125 yds most rifle shots will be normal-to-long NCOWS ranges 25 to 50 yds.

At Fort Hartsuff the modern restrooms are approximately 50 feet outside the back door of the Barracks wardroom, but no shower facilities. It may be possible that by then we may get permission from Lincoln to use the shower in the commanding officers quarters but as of now don't figure on it.

Looking forward to it.

Good, need-to-know information here: Thanks!

Major Robson, I, too have similar concerns, so I'll have a "traveling lantern" available.  (a small, one candle and reflector folding apparatus.)  You are welcome to use it.  As is ANYONE else.

Good News!
I found out yesterday that even if the Commanding Officers Quarters' shower at Ft. Hartsuff isn't available, there is a free public shower at the Ord City Park less than a mile from the range.

Good news indeed!

Now - how far is the range from Ft. Hartsuff?

I think it's about 9. The range is just outside of Ord. It's 6 from Ord to Elyria and the fort is 3 miles north of Elyria.

Afraid, no, but that don't mean I'm strongly in favor of it. ;D

A little body odor?

Trinity, old buddy - you're talking to a guy who went 58 DAYS without a shower during Desert Storm.   :o  I don't say that with pride, it just happened.  And the outside temp never got over 112 Deg. F., either - 'tho INSIDE the turret averaged about 120 and around the turbine engine compartment (the back 1/2 of the tank) it was MUCH higher.

Baby wipes.  We used tons of 'em!

By the way, it was the same 58 days that we ate nothing but MREs, too.  (Meals, Ready-to Eat = 3 lies for the price of one)

But a shower, even 9 miles from the barracks will be welcome!

Steel Horse,

I was under the impression that MRE stood for Meal Rejected by Eathopieans (sp)  ::)  ::)  ::)

They boiled our main course C Rat cans in those trash can water heaters.  Spiced beef was my favorite and Ham and Lima Beans my least favorite.  SHB, I never spent any time one of your M 1's, My short time spent in a tank(M60) was during one summer camp. I guess after 58 days, everyone smelled the same and nobody noticed.

I'd send Trinity some Bay Rum scent but I'm afraid he might drink it instead of slawishing it on.

That's what made it bearable!  We all smelled alike!  :o ::) ;D

I'll tell ya pards, that first shower (and it was from a 3 gallon canvas "bucket" hanging from the end of the gun tube) - in the desert, in front of God and everybody else - was the most glorious, comfortable, wonderful, fulfilling shower I've ever had!  Kind of makes ya 'preciate the "little things" in life we take for granted!

T. Lawdog, I've had plenty of them boiled c-rats, too.  I favored the beenie-weenies and the stuff they passed off as "stew."

Old Top, yer right, the Ethiopians rejected 'em, I b'lieve.  And ya know whut - them durn Iraqi refugees, who didn't have any food or water, even knew what MREs were pork based - by the number on the cover.  They'd come beggin', but MOSTLY they wanted - hold yer hats .... cigarettes.  I had one jasper offer me a wad of cash 4" in diameter for a pack of smokes.  I coulda come back a millionaire - if I smoked.
