I'm glad that I am not as old as the rest of you. We got our first TV in 1953, when I was only 7 years old. I was in college when Star Trek was on.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but since we're on the topic........ what about the ever complaining Dr. Smith from Lost in Space. He really got on my last nerve.

Thanks...I feel better now. I guess I fit into the old folks category too!!!

I never paid much attention to Smith, especially in the last couple seasons.  Now Penny Robinson (Angela Cartwright), well, her charachter was a little more ....er...developed.  (Her and Marsha Brady!!!)

I assume other "elderly" curmudgeons besides myself (.... such as, say, General Scout and River City John ....) will recall the series.   ;D

Hey, I remember that show am I a curmudgeon also, gee you get over 50 and have Grandkids and look what happens. ;D

(BTW you should see how my hair greyed the last couple of weeks, looked in the mirror the other day and said "well poop.) ::)

Well,

The only thing that will keep me away, is if Uncle Sam has something for me to do around that time.  Other than that, I have gotten the blessing from my wife to get that Pedersoli 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine.  I am looking forward to shooting with that and my USFA Government Inspectors model.  Not sure if I will shoot BP or Smokeless yet, but I am looking forward to the event.  My wife only get's 2 weekends off a year and we are using one of those weekends for that.

I am going to Gettysburg this summer.  I may try to find a good deal on a repro of a Berdan's Sharps.  Would be nice to get to pull the trigger a few times on it at the GAF Muster for some LD.... ;)

Looking forward to seeing you again, Major!

I'm thinking I may have to forego the pleasure and convenience of shooting a break action Webley, just so I can shoot my newly acquired Colt Model 1878 .... THE Canadian North West Rebellion revolver, and therefor ideal for my 1885 Queen's Own Rifles of Canada persona ....

Managed to get out to the range today to "function test" a few guns, including the Colt M1878.  It is a pleasure to shoot, and seemed quite accurate, though like most originals of that vintage,\ it prints quite high at CAS-type distances ...   ;D

Jack,

It will be great to see you and the rest of the gang.  Like I said, the only way I won't be there is if a higher power has other plans.  But, now I am looking really forward to the trip.

How ya doing Delmonico! ;D

Don't give him an excuse! ::) But if he does I may have my full size mountain howitzer completed, and we will have to load it on the trailer and bring it along as well....to soon to say at this point it's alittle over half completed.

We may have Sgt. John Chapman with us also but its to early for him to commit.

Later

Just tie the Sgt up and toss him in.  Maybe you should bring Custer, Litle Phil, Cody and The Grand Duke also. ;D  Oh don't forget Spotted Tail.

I was in the Army (Ft. Knox) with a young man who's last name was "Spotted Tail" - I wonder ...

I just corresponded with Sgt. John and he said he wouldn't likely be able to attend - he would need to bring his daughter, and she's a bit young to do that.  Teach 'em right while they're still little, I   say!  :D  (3 MAY be a bit too young for now, however  ;) ;)  IF I got her age right - it's hard to tell from her picture!  ;D  She's a cutie, that's for sure!!!)  She'd be the "Belle of the Ball" if she came around this bunch, I'll bet!  We'd be taking numbers to see who gets to take care of her, that's for sure.  She reminds me of my Granddaughter!  :D

I am really looking foward this muster. I don't have any period military uniforms to wear so I guess I will dress as a civilian. I'm just an Ol' fat cop, I don't imagine anyone stocks any 5 or 6x military uniforms.  I do have a replica 36 cal revolver and a replica Saber.

Sorry for the tardy reply. I do indeed, have room for the three of you and I have you on the reservations list for the barracks. Looking forward to meeting you.

Maybe you could print out the enlistment brochure for them and they could mail it in. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,19568.0.html
