Hi guys,

My first post here and saying hello. I got into doing my own leatherwork a few months ago and thought I'd show pictures of a couple of holsters I made. I hope I can figure out how to post the pictures......here goes.

Thanks for looking,

Howdy North and Welcome to the Forum

These are nice looking holsters, I've always liked the Texas Jock Strap style, and you did a nice job making them. I just got started in leather my own self a year in a half ago, and I really enjoy it, it kinda sooooooths the sole if ya know what I mean. Will keep up the good work, I'll look forward to seeing more of your work in the future, :)

Thanks for the nice welcome and the compliments guys. I'm working on a couple now and will post pictures when/if I manage to struggle through to completion.

Very nice...one question: how do you prevent wear from the button / stud from marring the finish on the #3 deringer?

Hi Forty Rod,

Wear on the finish huh? That's a good question and I don't know what to say except that it's already pretty wore, and besides I'll doubt I'll ever do much with it other than say "that's cute ain't it?" I guess that I'll have to admit to making a flawed design or maybe find me some soft buttons that wouldn't scuff the little Colt too bad.

I'm not putting it down, but I have a #3 Colt in about 90% condition full nickle and 80% rosewood grips.  It's sweet little gun and I'd like to find a way to carry it besides shoving it and a handful of change in my pocket with a jackknife and a lucky rock.  Your design looks good...first one I've seen that even interested me...except for that one little detail.

I was thinking a loop up and back over behind with the slot in the back part so the button / stud was behind, but that would add bulk.  Sorta defeating the purpose of a stingy gun if the holster takes up too much room.

Dang, now you got me to thinking and that always makes my head hurt.
