Thought ya`d like ta see ol PUKs #97 stock

Thought you`d like ta see my  97 stock .........

As I`m a little short in the arm I wuz finding it reeeel hard ta load `Boomer` with any degree of speed and there wuz NO WAY I wuz gonna attack the original,

Soooooooooo....

I bought a beat up old stock at Bisley in May for the princely sum of £5.00 (`bout $10.00 US.),It wuz nothing like you see here now it took hrs of work with a spokeshave,fret saw, chisles n sand paper ta get it sorted, The butt plate, `n small plate on the underside wuz made from an old brass letter box flap that I`d had hanging around fer yrs!!

So, I now got me a nice custom stock that's jest over 2ins shorter.`n fits `like a glove` And I feel that it hasn't detracted or spoilt the look of the piece

Lee-En-Chester!    Good one, Sir Charles!  I was thinking to myself how much it resembles my 1917 Enfield stock (which I LOVE) AND YOU CAME ALONG AND SAID IT PERFECTLY!

And I gotta tell ya`ll it definitely points better!!

Fer SHB I think you might have somethin there pard, thar wuz a crows foot on the `butt end` afore i chopped it! I have owned an Enfield  #4 1953 vintage and also a SMLE of 1917 vintage, that wuz a looker everything matched even the trench bayonet. I jest could not get on with them!!

Looks good, but now in the proper English tradion you need to make those screw heads line up even front to back and put cute little engraving on the heads.

(BTW I love those English guns like that, if I win the Lottery could ya put me up for a few days while I get Holland and Holland to fit me up for one.  Be careful, they have a website, not a good one to look at.)
