B-Miser,
Actually it is pretty easy to do digital from yer records. take a cable from one of your Aux jacks in the back of stereo/turntable etc. (or speaker if no aux) then go to Radio Shack and get an adapter to convert 2 connections to a single STEREO mini plug. Hook to input in your sound card Use one of your sound recorders on computer to record. (Creatitive has a good one.) If you have Nero for burning cd's it has a wave editor that will split the tracks.(if you don't have Nero, I have a shareware that does a good job. When you burn it to cd, esp. with Nero it will automatically convert to either mp3 or cd for you.
I actually bought a cheap amplifier and set it up with my turntable next to my computer to convert all my albums to cd....so far I have done 5-6....but it is easy, really...

Ha.

I kinda thought that was the way it worked, but these Chinglish instructions you get with 'puters are so bad that I couldn't tell.

That might just save one of the notebooks that I'm retiring from the dumpster. Got an external CD burner that'll work with it, and an extry turntable--one that even plays 78s! There's probably a stereo preamp kicking around here somewhere.

At my mom's are hours upon hours of stuff we taped in the 1950s. Quite a few reels of a community band where daddy and I played, that's still in existence. And I'd bet I've got the audio to the entire Spin and Marty series. We got a tape recorder in 1955, and we were just crazy for recording everything: family conversation at dinner, Lawrence Welk shows, ANY music that we made ourselves (and that was plenty).

Australian Jingle Bells

Dashing through the bush
in a rusty Holden Ute
Kicking up the dust
esky in the boot
Kelpie by my side
singing Christmas songs
Its summer time and I am in
my singlet shorts and thongs

Oh! Jingle Bells jingle bells jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day
Hey Jingle bells jingle bells Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden ute

Engines getting hot
we dodge the kangaroos
the swaggie climbs aboard
he is welcome too
all the family's there
sitting by the pool
Christmas day the Aussie way, by the barbecue

Oh jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day
Hey jingle bells jingle bells Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute

Come the afternoon, grandpa has a doze
the kids and uncle bruce
are swimming in their clothes
the time comes round to go
we take the family snap
pack the car and all shoot through
before the washing up

Oh jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way
Christmas time in Australia on a scorching summers day
Hey jingle bells jingle bells Christmas time is beaut
oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty holden ute
