That's how I ask for them. Never called one a Long Colt before.

The whole point may be that if I ask for, or talk about, 45 Long Colt to anyone they'll know what I'm referring to even if they don't like the way I say it.

Its also like calling all small airplanes Piper Cubs. Most aviation nuts will know what your talking about but it sure makes one look like a fool!

hopefully, if I ask for 45LC the guy at the counter will be gracious enough to hand me a box of 45 colt, without explaining what I dumba$$ I am.  Would be best for his business to let me walk away unedified and likely to return, rather than offended.  Just sayin
