Looking for a spare main spring to the original Roger & Spencer, c&b.  I will change and save the original for a replica.  Do any of you know a producer.

Euroarms makes the repro R & S,

Here is a good supplier; S & S sales Glendadle N.Y.m They have almost all the R &S parts and they 'll fit the originals too. (except the screws)

Talk to Phil, hes a good guy.

Good luck with the mainspring it's a bugger bear to get out and back in correctly. They break rathere easily.(originals)

I own an R &S that has been converted to 44 Herny Rim Fire and put though the Mexican Revolution or at least rose hard and put away wet, but she still has a great bore and good timing.

Hi again Halfway Creek Charlie
I have tried S&S but that repro main spring don´t fit a bit. The original one have a splited hook in the end of the hammer side and the rest don't have anything with an original to do. I have search for a spring among the spare part dealer I know and can find on the net. I guess an original will be almost impossible to find but my hope will go to a gunsmith. But I don't know any how have that talant with a R&S. The original main spring is too hard to use for regular shooting and there is as you say a big risk for a break. I will neighter get lose with a file on it.
Meanwhile I use my Civil Remington mod 1858.

HMMM that don't seem right about the repro springs, i just repaired an R & S for Tubac and his had a repro spring in it. I filed it down somewaht to lighten it. it would raise the bed of a dump truck when he sent it to me.

Also my original had a dumptruck strong original spring in it too. I lightened that spring as well. I lighten the springs by the knife edge system. meaning that I take my dremel tool and grind a knife edge on both sides of the top of the spring from the thick end(mtg) to the hook end. It really isn't a knife edge that is left on the sprijng, but it is way thinner at the edges than the middle. This works and doesn't put undo stress on any part of the spring. If you do the hour glass type of relieving the spring can break due to stress in one area of the spring and not other area's.
