Tell ya what though...I just installed a couple of Belt Mountain base pins in my New Vaqueros...The factory pins made quite a wobble in the cylinder but everythin is nice and tight now. I didn't know Belt Mtn even made the pins fer the RNV but I sent em an email and found that they did...sure itchin ta try em out to see if they group better ;D

How ya do-un Will, good to here from you

             I was getting a little lonley out here, I now what you mean about those base pins, I got a couple of them from Lyle at Belt Mountain a few weeks ago, I haven't put them in yet, I'm waiting for the weather to cool down a little, it's been just to hot to go out to my shop even at night . I have several things I want to do to my New Model Vaquero's, I got some new parts from West Fargo, their suposed to stop the ring around the cylinder, and some of his 14# hammer springs.
             I've got a good one for ya, I've always wanted a Range Rod to check the cylinder to barrel lineup, so I got one from Brownells , today I decided to  check all of my 45's I checked the new Vaquero's first , the one I thought might be a little off was perfect, and the other one way off, enough that it would be banging the barrel coming out, I haven't fired eighter of these guns, and I'm glad I didn't. I then went on to check the other three, and all three were are off just a tad, DON'T THAT BEET ALL....
             I called Ruger and they said to send it in and they would take care of it, So we packed it up and went the UPS Store,
and would you believe it coast me $ 78.00 to send this gun to Ruger. They have a new rule on shipping handguns now, they have to be sent SAME DAY MAIL, AIR ONLY they don't want handguns on the ground at all if possible. I think the last time I sent a gun to Ruger it didn't cost a thing . I asked the girl at Ruger if they were going to send me a box to send it in, and she said just use the case it came in and put in a box. Well  enough with me, I hope those base pines do the job for you, e-mail me and let me know, I now how you feel, I can hardly wait to get these guns out to range and to CAS. Will I hope I didn't ware you out with all this, but I guess I just needed to tell somebody. Have a great time next week shooting , and let me know how those base pines work for you.  ;D

                             Shoot Straight-- Smile, Have Fun Thats What It's All About  ;D

Ten Wolves, Ruger should pay the shipping...I bought my second pair of RNV's in January and when I got home I discovered the cylinder didn't line up with the loading gate when open. When I called Ruger they tried to argue that it wasn't suposed to but I knew better and asked for a supervisor. Then they admitted it needed repair and they said to ship it...needless to say I demanded they pay for shipping and they finally agreed to send me a prepaid label. Ya know, I don't think these things would go on if Bill Ruger was still alive. It's sad.

Yea WILL
            I think your right about this, I think its to late to have them return the shipping fee, but think I'll give them a call anyway, I can't believe they get $78.00 for shipping a handgun , I should have taken it back to the dealer maybe they would have given him a break . But live and learn. And I agree with you I think if Bill Ruger was still alive this would not have happened. ???

           MG Sorry to hear your having to do Duty out there , but it makes me feel good knowing a TOP GUN like yourself is out there looking out for us .  ;D it's good to see you back on RATS, I was telling Will it was getting kinda lonelyout here, Take care Greg, it will be over before you know it .

                           THANKS FOR THE COME BACK PARDS  ;D ;

Howdy Will

        I called Ruger this modning, and I talked to one of there agents, told him the story about my gun and what was wrong with it, and what the lady there told me about packageing the gun and sending it UPS or Fed-x and that when I asked for a box or a label to send it , she told me to package it up in the case it came with, put it in a box and send it to us, there was no offer of a box or label. H e told me that was wrong, that I should have been sent a label. So he asked me to send a copy of the receipt and the serial # of the gun and they would reimburse me for it, he said he was sorry this happened, and that it souldn't have.
        This has restored my faith in Ruger. ;D Will thanks for bringing this up.
