Deer hunting for meat

Call it what it is.  Cowboy cheese steak samwhices, put it on a sourdough one and it will make folks in Philly jelous.

Put mine on corn meal biscuits, just like downhome.

Just as long as I don't have ta beat them biscuits with a mallet fer a hour like they do in Maryland.

It is also mighty fine on my Czech style Sourdough rye bread.  Case you don't know it Tensleep, the Burlington, Quincy and Sheecago RR sold lots of their land in the 1870's ta the Czech and thousands settled in SE Newbrasskey.  Well I ain't Czech at all by birth but I is an Honorary Czech with many clusters.  First time the little ol' lady had just ate Czech food and asked me if'n I was, she gave me a kiss and a hug and tolt me I was an Honorary Czech.  Here in my neck of the prairie that is a fine honor not to be taken lightly.  Any can be Czech by birth, few can be an honoray one.  Course I got to be good or they'll take me ta Wibur the Czech Capital of Newbrasskey and lock me up in they jail, they got's on down there just fer "Bad Czechs".

Before I became a vegetarian some 15 years back...I did all the wild game things. Deer, Elk, Moose, Bear, Ducks and all of that.  I'm sorry folks...it was all too gamey for me.  I just couldn't get into that gamey flavor.  I never did develop an interest in hunting either.  I did go once.  I was sitting in a little clearing and a big four point Mule Deer walked into the clearing and looked directly at me.  I fired my rifle into the ground and told the deer to live another day. I didn't have the heart to kill that beautiful creature...and that was the last time I ever went hunting and that was right near 30 years back.

But veggietables is what food eats.   Myself the flavor is so much better than any other meat in the world.  Never had a problem with those who didn't care to hunt as long as they had no problem with my choice. 

Round here though the joke is that an anti-hunter is just a yuppie that ain't hit a deet with their Volvo yet.  The store I work in is in the City limits by about at least a mile.  Bout 2 years ago I got a call from work wantin' to know if I wanted a deer.  They said I had first chance and it wasn'r damaged much.  It came down the alley between the warehouse and the main store, and ran out on to a very busy street and got hit by a BMW.  They said the car was worse than the deer.  I was bad sick and turned it down but there was someone else there who wanted it if I didn't.  And yes I've cooked a lot of road kill venison.  I'm bout the same distance inta town and they get killed on the busy street a block from my house ever so often.

I'm not anti-hunting for anyone.  I just don't care to participate in it.  I never developed an interest in fishing either.  I never had a dad to take me hunting, or fishing.  I had a biological father, but he was never my "dad".  When I asked if I could go hunting, or fishing with him...his pat answer was "No...you'll scare all the game away!"  So I never developed an interest in hunting, or fishing...in fact....I have never in my life been Trout fishing, but then I never liked Trout anyway....too many bones!  I am not against hunting, or fishing.  I just don't participate in either.

I kinda like to go with the "freedom of choice" thing.  Everyone has the right to pick and choose as they so desire and it's not my business to make unkind remarks about it, or make a negative issue out of it.  It's their choice...not mine.

My hat?  I dunno who made it!  It's 100% wool felt and I picked it up off a website I found by typing into Google "Billy Jack Hats".  It goes with my SASS persona - White, reaised by the Arapaho.  It's the standard Reservation Hat.  The beaded hatband I got from a place on the net called Crazy Crow Trading.  Don't noise this around.  The beaded hatband was made in China....probably by some renegade "Chindians"!

Most of us shoot Eeytallian guns and of course our silk rags are made in China.   Ya did good on the look pard.  Since I help folks put perrsonnas and outfits together for a livin' I will tell ya ya did good.
