I had trouble until I switched to Ted Cash inline cappers.

I have had no issues since.

Hankering to shoot - wahooo come on Saturday!

Well the Rugers are going to have to wait a little longer.  I capped the Remmies by hand and it was very easy.  Followed up with the antler to be sure they were fully seated and pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.  I think I'll give them a try tomorrow.

YEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I may try the fingers capping them and pop a couple of caps tomorrow....ifn the rain aint too bad.  If I don't fumble finger too much may give it a try at the match.

I have some BP 12 gauge ammo for Cardinal to try out - about the power of 25 grains of BP and 25 grains of lead shot.

Not sure it will take down the take downs but will shoot them and see.

Bringing some other light loads too but they are that fancy smokeless powder...

Took my two C&B pistolas out to Clark Brothers.  The Navy did NOT like the CCI caps I got from them.  The Army had not problems with them.  Now I have a problem.  I cleaned out the Navy but when I put it back together, it wouldn't drop the hammer.  I started taking it apart and found some metal shavings inside the works.  That's just peachy, I got them out.  Now my problem.  I can't put it back together  :-\   I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Not a problem.  First you hold the whatjamacalit and the thingamabob together and slide them into the thingie.  Then be sure to put the screw in real quick.  Then ..... probably better to look on You Tube.    ::)     I'm sure there is a video out there somewhere on how to do it.

Good day of shootin wit my pards.  Cardinal is certainly getting better and better everytime I see her.  Once she gets the hang of the shotgun I'd be willing to bet it won't take long before she will be beating the pants off of me!

The capping by hand worked great and was probably faster than with a capper.  Every round went off and most hit the targets.  After Nate fixed the pin issue everything seemed to work just fine.  Had the joy of catching a fired cap between my hand and the pistol.  Not a lot of fun.

Now I know why the hammer pull on my Pietta Navy was so light.  The main spring was cracked.  When I took her apart Friday, it finally snapped.  Anyone have a recommendation on where to get a replacement?

Well, we had a great time shooting yesterday.

Seemed like long guns had issues first couple stages.

Had never seen anything like it - multiple shotguns and rifles...including my rifle.

However, after the first stage everything seemed to go just peachy.

I did though have one of those matches...rifle wents nuts first stage, had a P on the 4th stage and a few misses intermixed.

But still more fun than a day in the office any time!:)

Cardinal is already asking for bigger caliber pistols and rifle so she can shoot BP - she has caught onto the fun of shooting it and realized that the sound of BP going off is loud but recoil can be quite mild...

I am sure she will beat the pants off of me soon enough:)!

Reloaded the little 10 ga brass shells from yesterday's shoot.  Cleaning 38s to get them ready for speed derringer. Need to size and lube a bunch of 45LCs.  Oh the joy of casting and reloading for BP.   ;D

PR I will get you back the ones that ended up in my jug.  How to you prep your 10 ga purple hulls?  I didn't want to put the in the oven with my brass and wasn't sure if you media clean them.

You think you might make it next weekend to Waverly?

I've aquired a new brass framed 1858 Remmington Army, a 54 cal percussion rifle and a 50 cal percussion rifle (kit gun partly assembled).  I'm bringing them to the match tomorrow and putting them up for sale.  If someone in the area is interested let me know.  I don't really need any of them.  I got a good deal so I'm willing to give anyone interested a good deal as well.

I'm gonna bring my derringer to test out some loads I made recently (heathen powder).
