Just a quick little reply, speaking for all the pards and pardettes of the Stovall Creek Regulators, I want to wish all our good Darker Sider friends back east, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We always like shoot'n with ya'll and can't wait to head east again for the next Smoke on the Mattaponi. Hope'n 2011 will be a rewarding year for each and every one of you.

Not sure about the remake of True Grit. Something wrong about taking a John Wayne movie and remaking it.

Jeff Bridges plays Rooster as folksy, mumbling and rambling, far different than Wayne's portrayal. If Hamlet can be interpreted by so many different actors, why not Rooster Cogburn? from the Pilot

I agree that different actors will give certain roles a new twist. However, the role of Rooster in my mind was defined by The Duke. From the clips I have seen and what I have read, they have changed the story a bit and yet tried to keep the personality of the character the same. With Hamlet the words are the same the try to give them different meaning for the presented time period.

I have seen a lot of remakes of movies and generally the original is the best. Not sure why that is but it seems to be. When I see this movie, and I will on DVD/TV, I will be spending most of my time comparing the Bridges to Wayne.

How much is alot?

Just come back from Clark Bros. the storm must have after Christmas shoppers scared off. It was dead there. Only 2 or 3 at the range and a half dozen or so in the store. Highway was full of Snowbirds heading south though

Heading south? Hopefully they are not stopping here or northern NC. We are getting snow and lots of it.

Supposedly 10-15 inches.

And I only have a few shotgun shells to reload....

OH MY GOD!!! Just got home from werk *spit* ...... the roads are TERRIBLE!! 20 mph down Princess Anne Road otherwise I'da been in that ditch with that other guy. Thank God, I only have to drive 3 miles to get home. And if the main roads are like this, the side roads are 100 times worse! The two saving graces: 1.) I don't havta leave the house agin til Wednesday. 2.) MM shovelled me a clean spot in the driveway. I love that man of mine...............

I will miss the shoot saturday due to helping parents on the farm.

I did do a black powder pickup today with my brother and dad in winchester.

Raining this morning looks like a Cave day
