I musta been sleepin....

What is 'GAD' ?

I've been waiting since March for some 54cal paper patch bullets for my 1863 Spencer Carbine.  I gotta find another source.

You might give Back Creek Gun Shop a call also on the patched bullet

Ask for Bernold SB.  he can be a little short but he knows his stuff and has warmed up to me an my inquisitiveness about the turn of the century ammo.

PR

Thanks PR.
What I am looking for is a .542" 475 Grain Ring Tail for Paper Cart. Sharps.
I mis-spoke before.  This is for a .54cal percussion Sharps - not a Spencer.

PR,
Buffalo Arms is where I have an order with since March.  They called last week and said they didn't know when the bullets would be avaiable but it was not gonna be anytime soon.

Spoke to GAD...e ain't got nothing.  The closest he had was a Raphine mold for a 56 caliber.  No word yet from Back Creek.
Guess I will keep looking.

TT sorry about the delay in commenting on the Mason-Dixon BPGF.  Glad to hear that a regional is recognizing the category.  Maybe this year at the TG party  ::) ..... I mean the TG meeting in Vegas in December  ;) <meeting...right> they will pull their head  :o ..... <ooopps gotta be nice> maybe they will see reason and consider GF a shooting style and not keep it to a category.

Won't be making Mason-Dixon this year.  Think the last two annual matches this year will be Free State and Star City.

BTW I think I may try something a little different at Lost River this weekend.  Might even try shooting under a different alias....uummm maybe Wildcat William Feld.

LCR found me one of them thar 1876 NWMP Carbines

I am settling for the 45-60 version - will actually save me some money in brass since 45-70 is readily convertable and alot of smaller ammo companies make both black powder and smokeless versions of that round.

It should come in middle of this week.

I might have it by the md State shoot but probably won't have what I need to shoot it by then.

But maybe at one of the monthy matches i can give it a whirl - would love to be comfortable with how it shoots to use it at VA State!!:)

Yep went half and half yestdee.   Got some heathen ammo given to me and hadta unload it.  Shot it outta ma Blackhawks and used two hands to shoot em.   :o  That shor cornvinced me that I shor dunt understand why anyone would wanna shoot that heathen stuff and shootin' two handed shor aint much fun.   ;D   All that holstering and shiftin' guns around.   ;D  It has been about five years since I started shootin gunfighter and I guess I just needed to remind myownself why I started shootin thataway.  I don't think shootin any other way will happen agin God willin and creek dunt rise.

Had a lot of fun even still.

If'n I could shoot half descent with one hand I would ;D!!!

And from time to time I do shoot heathen stuff too...  Will make sure to cleanse your guns good though - don't want that new fangled powder stuff afflicting you true powder ammo ;D ;D

Had a great tour of the White House on saturday and got to see a bunch of the Teddy Roosevelt stuff - awesome paintings and pictures.

Looking forward to the Md State match in a couple weeks - if'n you shooting there - will see you there.
