Here are the shots of my Cantenas I got from major2, and shamelessly I put my 2nd Gen. Colt Navies in the holsters. ....the Belgian Armies won't fit.

Thanks again to major2 for letting me have these Cantenas, i love them. The only way they could be any better is as if they had wooly coverd flaps.  Those will be next, but they might be too late for my time period though. Them and Wooly Chaps!

Thank you Will ... and Charlie glad you like them....

compared to some of the talent here , I'm a hack....

I've learned a lot about finishes  from Triggersmith and I like his style.

The tooling and aging of Nolan Sackett at Wild Rose, is wonderful...

I've lots of Rev War , War of 1812, and ACW military stuff ( saddles and tack )

I need to take a photo of my leather Dragoon Helmet. I made for the TNT film Tecumseh
kinda proud of that one....
if there is any interest on a CAS site...

It's leather. Of course we're interested. Leather underwear may be stretching it some, but the helmet would be interesting. ;D

Howdy Pards:

Well...I have finally located my re-print of the 1885 Ordnance Memoranda that has the saddle bags specs.  I think the best way to do this is to photo copy the entire book and send it to who wants.. So, if you want a copy send me an e-mail or private message with your name and address and I will make up copies to send.  e-mail  Outrider@charter.net

I'd like a copy of the earlier saddle bag specs etc. if possible...looks like a fun project!

Thought I would post photos of my progress on a set of bags I'm making using the help received on this forum.
These bags are at the halfway point. I sew by hand so its taking me a while. I used some free leather that a customer gave me. I will be making more bags for myself over the winter using a non embossed leather. As I finish a project, I usually start thinking of what I can do to improve that item the next time I make it.

Many thanks to Major2 and Outrider for their assistance and help on this project.

I got mine from Cabellas a few years ago, and I don't thing I will ever wear them down. Wish I could make my own, but that is old history for me.

hope this helps
