Any more word on USFA making the 1858 and 1875 revolvers for Remington?  Any idea when they will become available?  Will USFA be distributing them or will we be getting them through Remington.  My reading of the new release indicated that they will bear the Remington name, not USFA's.
It has been almost a month since anyone posted on this board.  Is anyone out there?  I'm getting lonely!

We are all here.  I wouldnt hold your breath too long for the USFA Remingtons.  No more public word has come out since the April announcement.  I have heard that you shouldnt expect them for 2 years,  but Gary Granger would know best if he cares to respond.   I think we are all just playing the waiting game now.  After the Cimarron Richards Transitional fiasco we are all a bit.......gun shy.   Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

I've played the waiting game 4 or 5 times. You get used to it. A couple years is no big deal, it's only 24 monthly matches away.  ;D

I posted this on another thread but I've been promised shooters of both the percussion revolver and the 1875 prior to the end of the year.  No pricing yet however.  The revolvers will bear the Remington name and no reference to USFA will be on the gun.   Orderering will probably be through a separate line at USFA but details still need to be worked out.

Banjoman,
Thanks for the update.  I think the fact that the guns will bear the Remington name will only add to their value down the line.

So I am assuming we just need to watch the USFA website to know when we can order them.  Thanks for the reply Gary.

Gary,

What are we looking at with barrel lengths on those?

I spoke w/ Mark Roberts at USFA today. For those of you who don't know, Mark worked at Colt for the previous ten years and recently was hired at USFA and a better man could not have been found IMO.  ;)  Mark is a straight shooter as he previously posted on another website I belong to and was always the "go to" man for Colt questions. I asked Mark about the Remington project & he said they will have samples at the 2008 Shot Show and that by this time next year they will be available. I almost fainted out of glee. He also said that they had reverse engineered an original 1875 for the project. As a "darksider" I pleaded with him to "keep her original" and not "Ubertize" the frame as mine will be for real BP. Man, if you're half as excited about the 1875 as I am then I'm twice as excited as you!!  ;D :D ;)  I tried to "phone torture" Mark into revealing any info on any "black book" projects for the future but he declined.  :'( ;)

Kid,  This is indeed good information.  Thanks for telling us.

Thanks for the update. I guess I'd better start shaving gold coins so I'll be ready.

I wonder if they have any plans for an 1890 also?  A 7.5 inch 1875 and a 5.5 inch 1890 in .38-40 or .44-40 would be a nice pair to go with an original 1892 winchester.  There I go dreemin again.
did Remington ever make thier revolvers in .38-40?

I have a lot of savin to do.

According to the original press release from USFA they are only going to do the 58s and 75s right now.  I have a feeling if these do really well they may do the  90s as well.   I will be content with the 58s and especially the 75s myself.

I would think changing the ejector housing would be a logical step for them. They could offer a whole new model with only one tooling change.
