Hee hee hee... April Fool.

On a long and lonesome highway, east of omaha.
You can listen to the engine moaning out it's one lone song
You can think about woman, or the girl you knew the night before,
But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do.
When your riding sixteen hours and there's nothing much to do
And you don't feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through.
Say, here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road,
You can feel the eyes upon you as your shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode.
Most times you can't hear em talk, other times you can.
Oh the same old cliche, as that woman on her a man
You always see my number, you don't dare make a stand.
Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Out there in the spotlight your a million miles away,
Every ounce of energy, you try and give away,
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.
Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed,
With the echo from the amplifiers ringing in your head,
You smoke the days last cigarette, remembering what she said.
Now here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Ah here I go, playing star again.
There I go, there I go.

Bringing this one back up with the song that is in my head this morning:

I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school
Or steal my daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool
Or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin' hand
Oh maggie I wish I'd never seen your face
You made a first-class fool out of me
But I'm as blind as a fool can be
You stole my heart but I love you anyway

Curley, are you ok? You've been quiet.

Miss Annie,

Curly is off on vacation to Boston today I beleive he will be gone a week. so you are stuck with me and the only thing that I can make sing are automatic weapons and I don't think we need that.  Although both of us shot so bad last weekend we could have used them.

Old Top
I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Curley Cole

MIz Lee,
Why thanky for the concern, As Old Top implyed, I have been galavantin'. Went to Boston to visit family and look up dead relatitives.(My daughter in law is doing our genology, so went to Beverly MA to get the skinny on members long gone. Had a bunch of great sea food. Got stuck in Dallas, My plane was late leaving Beantown, so when got in to DFW, no planes out so they put us up in a hotel. (better than some I saw sleepin in the termindal.)

Surprised Top didnt use the opportunity to brag about his "new addition", anyways will be back to the work line next week and will bave to find a song suitable to post...(leavin on a jet plane is too obvious...haaaa)

stil have a bit of jet lag so going off to nap a wihle and maybe load some bollits...

I've been searching for two to post.  Sicked Annie on one, no luck, fits in with some things going on latley. ;D ;D  Won't say no more.

The other I can get, just put the song on repeat at work and memorize it, not a very nasty task, except I might make a cowboy cry if he hears it.

And by special request, dedicated to AnnieLee!:

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again
When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name
No one recognized me, I didn't look the same

CHORUS
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

People came from miles around, everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air
'n' over in the corner, much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise

CHORUS

lott-in-dah-dah-dah, lot-in-dah-dah-dah

Played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came
No one heard the music, we didn't look the same
I said hello to "Mary Lou", she belongs to me
When I sang a song about a honky-tonk, it was time to leave

CHORUS

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)
lot-in-dah-dah-dah

Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B. Goode
Playing guitar like a-ringin' a bell and lookin' like he should
If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck
But if memories were all I sang, I rather drive a truck

CHORUS

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)
lot-in-dah-dah-dah

'n' it's all right now, learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself

Thank you.

What mood would that be?  Ol' Nelson weren't very positive when he wrote this song.

Ah hope ever'thing's better now that "verk" is over!!

Well, I'm home, that's a good thing. I planted my petunias, another good thing. I dug out my blue corset and put it on, that's a third good thing. So, life is looking up.

Thank you again,
