Probably referring to the low period during the 70's when Akron's industries were leaving.The rubber plants were closing and the area was in decline. It's since gone through a revitalization, due to the University of Akron's big growth spurt lately. My youngest son goes there now and works at the University as well. They are going through some huge expansion at the moment. It's going from a downtown type campus to a park type set up. Many new buildings, grassy areas, trees, some streets being eliminated. They're getting ready to take out a lot of old buildings and homes to put in a new stadium..................Buck
