Here's one that popped into my head tonight:

If you're down, and confused
And you don't remember, who you're talkin' to
Concentration slips away
'Cause your baby is so far away

Chorus
And there's a rose, in a fisted glove
And the eagle flies, with the dove
And if you can't be, with the one you love
Love the one you're with

Don't be angry, don't be sad
Don't sit cryin' over good times you had
There's a girl, right next to you
And she's just waitin', for something to do

[Chorus]

Turn your heartache right into joy
She's a girl, and you're a boy
So get it together, make it nice
You ain't gonna need, any more advice

[Chorus]

:D

Pushin' horns wern't easy, like the movies said it was
I don't remember dancehall girls or hotel rooms with rugs
Ya worked hot and tired and nasty, rode yer ponies head to low
And there were nights you couldn't sleep cause it was to danged cold

And we sang Strawberry Roan and Little Joe

The time we reached the river the rain was pourin' down
Water risin' so danged fast we thought we lose em all
We lost a lot of steers that day and 4 or 5 good mounts
But when all the boys came ridin' in we knew what counts

And we sang Yippe Ki Yi Oh and Amazin' Grace

The night they broke behind us and took us by surprise
I whistled out to Bonner, saw the terror in his eyes
He rode for all his horse would ride, I know he done his best
But he crossed over Jordan riddin' Dunny to is death

And we sang Bringin' in the Sheaves and The Rugged Cross

When you see the cowboy, he's not ragged by his choice
Never meant to bow those legs or put that gravel in his voice
He chasin' what he really loves, whats burnin' in his soul
Wishin' ta hell that he was born a hundred years ago

Still singin' Strawberry roan and Little Joe

To all my friends that I have met over the years who still do this fer a livin'.  I don't remember who wrote it, many have sung it, Dan Robert, Bar J Wranglers, Don Edwards and The Sons of the San Joquin that I know of.  I do it from time to time as a poem, cause I can't sing worth a dang.

We were having a drink at Stockman's
Listening to the guitars ring
Jesse said "You know they sold the MC horses
I'll be damn-when was thatI had not
Heard a thing
Back in August-100 head and more

Ya the people they come from everywhere
Just to bid on them high and low
There by own a piece of the legand
With the cow herd all disbursed
The ol'cavvy she had to go
Back in August-100 head and more

Come on boys run 'em in
Were goin' to let this sale begain
Last of the big remudas of the mighty MC
There's horses here for everyone
Saddle 'em kids lets get her done
By the time the Oregon sun goes down
This outfits history
This outfits history

So the MC crew they rode 'em all
People all gathered round
One ol' boy he gave two grand for Banjo
Banjo took his trailer apart
When he tried to load him up for town
Back in August-100 head and more

So if you ever have a beer at the Adel store
Say hi to Chuck & Annie
They'll show you those big 'ol steer heads
up there hangin'
when you ask where have they gone
Hell they're gone like the MC Cavvy
Back in August-100 head and more

Come on boys run 'em in
We're gonna let this sale begin
Last of the big remudas of the mighty MC
There's horses here for every one
Saddle 'em kids lets get her done
By the time that Oregon sun goes down

A favorite with the workin' cowboys, sometimes I wonder if they should be declared an endangered species and given full protection.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Aye, Old Top....

Oooh oooh take it take it all away
Oooh ooh take my breath away
Oooh ooh yoooo take my breath away

Look into my eyes and you'll see I'm the only one
You've captured my love stolen my heart
Changed my life
Every time you make a move you destroy my mind
And the way you touch
I lose control and shiver deep inside
You take my breath away

You can reduce me to tears with a single sigh
Ev'ry breath that you take
Any sound that you make is a whisper in my ear
I could give up all my life for just one kiss
I would surely die if you dismiss me from your love
You take my breath away

So please don't go
Don't leave me here all by myself
I get ever so lonely from time to time
I will find you anywhere you go
I'll be right behind you
Right until the ends of the earth
I'll get no sleep until I find you
To tell you that you just take my breath away

I will find you anywhere you go
Right until the ends of the earth
I'll get no sleep until I find you
To tell you when I've found you
I love you

Take my breath take my breath ... away

Ah Miz Lee,
you take a breather, and come back with a real hum-dinger...(there is a real trashy joke there but will forgo the obvious...)

For the group:

I had a pet gorilla and her neame she was a-Matilda
Matilda loved to sing songs every day
And this is what gorilla Matilda would say...

Ooo-ooo-oo-Ah-ah-Ooo-ooo-ah-ah-ah-Ooo---ah

So we'd go strolling through the park
You know the people would laugh and the dogs would bark
They never understood a word Matilda would sing
But Matilda was doing her "Gorilla Thing"

And for Miz Lee

Lost and alone on some fgorgotten highway
Travelled by many, remembered by few
Lookin for something that I can believe in
Looking for something that I'd like to do with my life
There is nothin behind me and nothin that ties me
To somthin that might have been true yester day
Tomorrow is open and right now it seems to be more
than enough to just be here today
And I dont know what the future is holding in store
I dont know where I am going I'm not sure where I ve been
There a spirit that guides me a light that shines for me
My life is worth the livin, I dont need to see the end

Sweet Sweet Surrender
Live, Live with out a care
Like a fish in the water
Like a bird in the air..........

I believe I am going to take my aching bones on to bed, (It's raining here again)
night to the camp

I treat the Husqy with a TON of respect, Old Top. The funny thing is, as I was cutting with my safety glasses, earmuffs and chainsaw leggings on, it wasn't the saw that 'bit' me yesterday. As I was cutting up a tree that had been downed with Isabel, the timber gave way. I was expecting and prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for was the whiplike motion of the blackberry bramble that came tearing across the only unprotected part of my body: the lower half of my face.

Alas, I said some very unladylike words.

For a milli-second, I think my face looked like Mel, my avatar. I might have shrieked a little, interrupting the bad words. But I didn't drop the chainsaw, so I give myself credit for that. I picked out a thorn the size of a cat's claw from my face and my upper lip is still a bit sore, but other than that, I'm okie.
