Hello SSS,

I received the following photos and text from Bead Swinger via Email.  Some great examples of Spencers on display at the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum.  Thanks,  Bead Swinger ;D ;D  Two Flints

Hi Two Flints:

This is the display that inspired me to pull out my beading equipment - (Long story - I learned to bead when I was a kid) If I find the money to buy some Elk or Moose or some other cool hide, I'm going to make a copy of this killer Spencer Case.

I think this a comparison of the 1860 and 1865 variants.

This is a great display. The top is one of the 1000 Navy Rifles - and it is in beautiful condition. The bottom ones are civilian versions - including a small-frame version.

This is one on their case full of Spencer Shotguns.

   Greetings!

If You Fellows want an Honest-To-God firearms education, get over to the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody! A couple of years ago, Dad & I made the pilgrimage, and spent eight hours in the Firearms wing! The Native American wing was fairly good; the rest was worth it.

   Be Well!

I have a pard who was freinds with the prior curator of the Cody Museum firearms collection.  In fact, he had been offered the assistant curator job.  A few years ago hey got as new, politically correct museum director, and he or she wanted to de-emphasize the firearms part and maybe even sell the collection.  Fortunately cooler heads prevailed.
