Hoyts record company was: Jeramiah Records...but had a frog in a top hat and tie..

It was cool seein him at the coffee house with me, my date, and 4 other people. Hoyt said we ought to move the show to his apartment....it was cool. We used to see him at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, right at the stage, and then we'd go back stage and visit. Once we went to see him at another club, and they didn't have a "backstage", just a back door. We were gonna follow him out to his bus, (the owner of the club said it waz ok, ) bouncer thought about stoppin us. ONly thing was Hoyt was about twice his size...Bus was cool...he bought it from Commander Cody...

Yup he bought the bus from Commander Cody, and he named it "The HoneySuckle Rose", long long before Willie got holt of the name...Heck, I once got to sit in the old recliner Hoyt had bolted to the "shotgun" seat position....

Hoyt also said he "stole" Commander Cody's bass player ...Bruce Barlow...I think it was a mutual move, since CC wasn't recording anymore.

It was fun seein Hoyt with a backup band. But when I first started seein him, it was just him and a squeeky old wooden chair. (I thought it belonged to the Trubadour, until I saw him at the next place with that same old chair.

You were right Hoyt was one of a kind...

It's a shame that more people were not exposed to Hoyt and his music before he passed away.

I do that ta Lil all the time.  I even hear bits of music in mechanical equipment sometimes.  When I turn on my scanner I swear it plays the first two notes ta Summer in the City by the Lovin Spoonfull.  It's uncanny.

Well my mom and pop told me, "Son you gotta make some money,
If you want to use the car to go ridin' next Sunday"
Well I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick

Rememberin' old stuff kin be a bad thing. Watchin' them boys werkin' on the lines this mornin' brought ta mind Wichita Lineman. Had that drag-on-forever POS stuck in my head all mornin'

Needed ta get some provisions tagether fer this afternoon so I grabbed a Jimi Hendrix CD 'n headed fer Wawa. Got inta the store 'n Sam Cooke was Twistin' the Night Away. In my mind's eye, I saw a Foxy Lady strollin' thru a Purple Haze on the way back.

Glen Campbell took a hike. Fliushed the ole boy slam out.
