Tell ya what, gotta give respect where it's due.  I was on 2 wheels headed up ta Canada and got caught in a downpour for two days through Oregon and Washington.  Used a truck as a shield for miles and miles.  Got off the bike at a truck stop and a great guy bought me a cup of coffee.  Asked him why, and he said, "I just watched you follow me in that $%&* fer 60 miles.  Thought ya could use it". 
     I still wish him well ta this day and always will

Jerry died in a hospice of complications from lung cancer and enfazema.

They talk about Newman on the open wheel board. Sayin' he's stayin' home until he passes on. Only seein' family 'n close friends.

Back in 1984, they had a sports car race over in Dallas. They laid out a race course around the Texas State Fair grounds.  Paul and Scott Sharp's dad(Bob) raced 300Z Datsun coupe #33. I got tickets and pit paces for the race for my self and the Moose.  I didn't tell her that Paul would be driving. She is a big Newman fan.  We were walking through the pits and saw this guy giving an interview to a local newswoman. Moose says, That guy looks like Paul Newman. I said Honey, that is Paul Newman. He finishes the interview and gets on a minibike to ride to the stating line. He almost runs her down as he is leaving, wearing those mirrored sunglasses.  He is grining and she is tryin' to get a picture of him. She can't get the lens cover off in time and doesn't get the shot. She has nevered forgotten that day.  The day Paul Newman almost ran her down on this minibike.

There was a picture of him and his dear wife in Life Magazine.  It was black and white and just a shot of them cooking tagether in the kitchen.  I always wanted ta find it again and get a copy ta frame and put in my kitchen fer Lil.  No luck so far.

He ran some laps in a Prototype At the 24 Hours Of Daytona in 2005. Paul was about 78 at the time.  He sold his GT1 Corvette a while back but he took it out for one last time.

     I think they did a whole series of shots cause one of em looks like they're dancin in that same kitchen.  I saw it in a book called The Best of Life that my Gramma had.  Would stare at the pages of that book for hours everytime we went ta visit.  I've found other similar books since but not the same one.  It was the best history lesson I could ever have had.

RT, I clicked on "other editions" and there is one from 1973 with a dust jacket.  Good odds that's the one.  I think I'll gamble my $1.99 and find out.
