Where was this ultimate radio program when I was out stackin wood the last few hours?
Sure coulda used it.  The guy I was stackin fer is a little off in the head, an it woulda been great stuff ta drown him out ;D

These Cowboy Music artists are able to have their music played at these festivals of the West, Cowboy Poetry, and and other venues to promote Cowboy music to all parts of the country, not just the West.  There is a little "Cowboy" in all of us.

All right, here's a wierd story/rant/babble.
I jumped in the car ta grab some smokes taday, an someone had screwed with the radio.  I started pushin buttons an fell across a station playin Billy Joel.  Fergot I liked him, but was diggin it all the way ta the store.  Got home an went on with other things.  Got another Joel song stuck in ma head and couldn't remember which one I had heard on the radio ta save ma life.  So housrs later, I was gettin a beard trim from Lil an still tyin ta remember the song from the radio an Lil starts whistlin somethin.  Asked her what it was and it was some bad country pop from the 80's (not worth mentionin here) then she says, "it got stuck in my head, don't ask me why".
"Don't ask me why" was the song I had heard earlier an she answered ma question fer me jus like that :D  Coincidental nonsense, but it was perty cool.

So without further BS, here's one of ma favorites, though I haven't thought of him in a while...

All the waiters in your grand cafe
Leave their tables when you blink
Every dog must have his everyday
Every drunk must have his drink
Dont wait for answers
Just take your chances
Dont ask me why

All your life you had to stand in line
Still youre standing on your feet
All your choices made you change your mind
Now your calenders complete
Dont wait for answers
Just take your chances
Dont ask me why

You can say the human heart
Is only make-believe
And I am only fighting fire with fire
But you are still a victim
Of the accidents you leave
As sure as Im a victim of desire

All the servants in your new hotel
Throw their roses at your feet
Fool them all but baby I can tell
Youre no stranger to the street
Dont ask for favors
Dont talk to strangers
Dont ask me why

Yesterday you were an only child
Now your ghosts have gone away
You can kill them in the classic style
Now you, parlez vous francais
Dont look for answers
You took your chances
Dont ask me why
Dont ask me why

Cowboy music has always been a favorite of mine. I grew up listening to Roy and Gene.  These new atrists are carrying on the tradition.  My dad was a big Bob Wills fan, so I grew up listening to Western Swing. Wstern Swing has strong roots in Texas and Okla. If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band.  Asleep at the Wheel is carrying on that tradition. I've been an ASAW fan since about 72 0r 73.  The first album of their's that I bought was an 8- track.

My favorite one is Ride With Bob

Ride with Bob is one of my favorite ones. I think I have most of their albums and I've seen them live several times and on Austin City Limits.  I saw ASAW in Ft. Worth at an outdoor concert in the Park.  The opening act was an unknown female group named "The Dixie Chicks".

The Dixie Chix got perty big fer awile, until the lead gal said some "unpatriotic" things at a show in Texas.  The backlash was huge an aint heard of em since.

Natalie Maines was just bein' a good l'il brainwashed socialist who thought she'd get a cheap pop by sayin' something before a British crowd she wouldn't have said on stage in Texas. I reckon she didn't think werd would get across the pond.

Didn't she also make some referance to Toby Keith's "Angry American" song, not a big Toby fan, but my hand is out for him on that one.  Someone told me he owns a resteraunt somewhere and feeds active and former servicemen for free.

Rather a nice deal.  Course he got some award from the USO last week for the tours he's done overseas, wonder what whould happen to the Dixie Chimps if they went on a USO tour, figure if the other two were upset about the comments they'd a kicked her out, far as I know the local CW station will still not play their music, heard others did the same.

That was the FTK t-shirt thing?

Had something to do with it, heard an interview with him a while back, said there are more important things than fighting with a liberal twit, said he could care less what she thought, he knew what he believes in.

OK, I was all wrong on the venue, but that's what happened.  Lost 3 girls a good career preenin to the appropriate crowd.
The Brits also sunk The Killer, but he didn't know he done anythin wrong.  At least he can still book a state fair.
I don listen ta Toby but I'd buy his stuff jus ta give him the royalties.

The part few realize, just 'cause you have a right to say it, I have a right to dislike it.

Got into a discussion with an aini-gun person one time, meantioned the Bill of Rights and the 2nd, they drug out the 1st and freedom of speech.  Said yep, and I'd defend their right to that with my guns, told him I thought he ought to do the same for me and defend my right to guns with his mouth. :)

One of the few I've ever discussed it with, don't know many, don't have no "FRIENDS" that are anti-gun.
