Arcey, do you get kidney stones from eatin' Grits?   What effect does "Global Warming" have on kidney stones and Grits?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Couldn’t tell ya. I just been eatin’ ‘em since birth. No stones yet.

Now, whatcha could do is run on o’er to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. They did the research on the thing. I’m sure if ya bring ‘nuff money they’ll put ‘nuff spin on it ta give ya any outcome ya want like I suspect they did with that one.

Coffees gone. Got things ta do. Talk folks gettin’ ready ta interview ‘Cooter’. Played Waylon doin’ ‘Rainey Day Woman’ as bumper music. Gottah get my CD off the shelf.

Arcey,  I try to stay away from that place, that's where the ME's office for Dallas County is. I spent enough time over there when I worked as a cop in Dallas County and the funeral home that I worked part-time at.  I guess I'll conduct my own experiments by eating plenty of grits. I have heard that having kidney stones is like child birth.

Local radio or Syndicated?  'Cooter' had a little roadside resturant not far from here couple years back, use to have some Bluegrass pickers in there on the weekends.  I understand he sold it now, to pursue Politics.

Local. He’s in Norfolk for a book signin’ at Prince Books downtown where I used ta order the Titanic books I have. Prolly stayin’ at the Marriot next door. Nice place. Just across the street from the radio studio. Five minute walk

He was a one term congressman representin’ some district in Jo-Ja. Said he didn’t get re-elected due to illness. The voters were sick of ‘im. Sez he’s livin’ in Sperryville these days.

Talked about growin’ up in Portsmouth. Said some things I know to be factually inaccurate. Never lived there, don’t wanna. It’s the worse place in South Hampton Roads to be. But I’ve been all over it as a grown man. Ya ever see a shoppin’ mall fail to the point it was torn down? Happened in Portsmouth.

Appears to me he’s an actor ‘n a failed politician.

Outa work politicans are like fish outa water. If the book deal don't pan out, maybe the royalty checks from the "Dukes of Hazzard" can help with cash flow.

A favorite Fary Tale

Once upon a time

There was a very handsome, very lonely young cowhand who had just finished a long cattle drive to one of the well known cowtowns of the old west. It just happened to be that the day was Sunday and the soloon was being used for Sunday worship ( ther being no church building in the area).
The young man, having nothing better to do decided to attend the service. During the singing of a hymn he happened to notice a very pretty young woman about four seats down from where he was seated.
After services he attempted to introduce himself to her but she was no where to be found.
The next day he inquired about her at the general store and learned that she was the schoolteacher and had come from Philadelphia this was her first teaching job.
Well it took almost no time at all for the young man to find a job at the town resturant and become a regular citizen of the town.
After which he began courting the schoolmarm. They courted for a long time--- eighteen months, before he mustered up the courage to ask for her hand.
Well, to shorten a long story; she refused him!
And the young cowhand lived happily ever after, going to the town frolics, hunting, fishing, and drinking as much beer as he wanted when he wanted!
                                             The End

We got one of those Tall Ships anchored at Galveston.  The Elyissa made the trip up the east coast for the big celebration a few years ago. It's a beautiful thing watching those ships at full sail.

Just finished watching RIO BRAVO:

The sun is sinking in the west
The cattle go down to the stream
The red wing settles in her nest
It's time for a cowboy to dream

Purple light in the canyons
That's where I long to be
With my three good companions
Just my rifle, pony and me

Gonna hang my sombrero
On the limb of a tree
Coming home, sweetheart darlin'
Just my rifle, pony and me

Whippoorwill in the willow
Sings a sweet melody
Riding to Amarillo
Just my rifle, pony and me

No more cows to be roping
No more strays will I see
Round the bend, she'll be waiting
For my rifle, pony and me
For my rifle, my pony and me
