Dang!  You feller's are going to make me dig out my John Denver album.  Besides the Christmas album, I'm sure I've got one or two others.

OK,  now my wife that passed away had been  a Jehovah Witness, before I met her,  she said the JW's hated John Denver and his music,   something to do with his wife being one and the things he said about them after his divorce.   she always used to say that John Denver music was to the JW's like a cross to a Vampire  ;D ;D

I always thought about walking out on the porch singing thank God I'm a Country Boy when some of the Jehovah Witness's showed up.   ;D

don't mean to offend anyone, just a true story. ;D

Well, I guess that means you won't buy a magazine from me when I come a-callin'.  What a shame, because I just got litl trinity in a suit with his hair all plastered down. ;D

Kinda a surprise to read that your visitors didn't have a kid with them Del.  I had thought that childless ones were issued them for their sales calls. :)

Well they were in the wilds of johnson County Newbrassky, over 4 miles from a paved road, might have decided not to risk it.  Wonder what would of happened if I'd a told them I'd make them squeal like a pig.  BTW Forty Rod, your folks are welcome to come by any time, they are nice and polite.  When the CLS come by, I end up sittin' around talkin' history with them.  They have always been more than polite.

I waz readin' back a few pages (have been outta town for a while) and noted the trivia question on "Forest Lawn", well, before good ol JD did it, it was done by the Chad Mitchell Trio....(before JD joined up with the Trio..) I found some Early Chad on a CD recently in a Virgin store, but back to the Chad Mitchell Trio, JD joined up with the trio after Chad left and took over the responsibility of $65,000 in debts and he paid it all off...

I recently told Miz Debbie of EMF to go back and read some of the old Kumbuya Part Deaux pages, told her she would get a little laff outta it...

anyways I got to see old JD in  concert here in SoCal once, excellent show, he played til intermission time, his band left the stage, then he played solo til they came back, and they played anothe 45 minutes or so....cool concert..
take care all

This guy is burried at a Forrest Lawn.
One of his early little known songs...

jelly bean, jelly bean
well that's the name we picked for you
and it fits you to-a-t
and now i tell you why it's true
'cause you're sweet 'n' swell 'n' round
and a-penny to the pound, jelly bean
there's a guy who lives in our block
his name is curly carr
each night he comes around the street
packin' his guitar
stops at jelly bean's house
that pretty little thing
bows his head and bends his knees
you oughta hear him sing
jelly bean comes to the window
and she listens for a while
never even blinks her eye, always in a smile
tosses up her pretty curls and turns to go
packs his guitar on more time
and sings his tale of woe
"When you have to shoot, shoot.  Don't talk."

always enjoyed Eddie Arnold,

my mom and dad would always tell the story or going to Nashville, to see the Grand Old Oprea and going back to their Motor Inn, where you just pulled your car up to your own little room.  anyway, they went back after the show and were setting out on the porch smoking when the car pulled up the next cabin over, a fellar got out and came walking over to their porch and asked if he could bum a cigarette,  sat down there on the dark porch and started visiting with em.  Dad said he told him he farmed, the guy told him he had followed a mule many a mile, said they set there about an hour before Mom went in and got em something to drink and turned on the porch light,  said it was Eddie Arnold,  They set there near all night talking with him, smoking and telling stories.  They said ya never seen anybody so friendly and ready to vist.  said he was gone next day when they came back,  but they told that story a zillion times.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else
