So I got a new song for all you, gone country for this one, but it's got some blues in there, hehe, like all mine do:
http://music.yahoo.com/track/17019972
there's a little play button by the album artwork

Troubled soul, all alone
I can feel your sadness
The hearache and the madness

Are hittin' hard tonight
You're cornered up and hunkered down
The walls are tall around you
For anyone to break through
It's gonna be a fight

(Chorus)
Bring it on, bring it on
All your heartache and frustration
You've been done wrong too long
And I'm strong enough to change it
Maybe in time, we'll turn water into wine
Maybe love is what we'll find
Bring it on

It's not too late to fly away
And I won't try to stop you
So you do what you've got to
I'll understand
But if you need a place to land

A haven, safe and certain
Someone to share your burden
Then take my hand

(Chorus 2x)
Bring it on, bring it on
All your heartache and frustration
You've been done wrong too long
And I'm strong enough to change it
Maybe in time, we'll turn water into wine
Maybe love is what we'll find
Bring it on

Yeah, bring it on baby
Baby, bring it on
Bring it on
Yeah, bring it on

I like Trace's song.  There's one of his that brings a tear to my eye and I'm not ashamed. To anyone who has served in the military, this song has strong meaning.  "I finally made it to Arlington".  If that song don't put a tear in your eye, there is something wrong with you.

Tex, before you were done with your reply I knew what song you were talking about.  I love that song, and weep every time... and damn proud I do.  I figure it takes a real human to realize the meaning in that song.

too many memories there, I can't watch that vid.
I'm thinking about tatooing a number 8 on my chest over my heart...
there were 8 of us that signed out of high school or went to the academies, and we were all close.  I'm all that's left.
played trumpet for them all, they figured since I was a Coastie, I'd be the safest and so it was my job.

guess they were right.

Major, Thank you for the link to the video.  I've lost friends in the military and fellow officers as a cop, it's always tough. My heart is with the families for the 4 officers who died in Oakland.

That song gets me hard for my own reasons.  One of the ones I know what's going to happen as soon as I hear the first few bars and realize what it is.  Aint ashamed to say Lil has seen my tears many times and never thought any less of me.

Trace was part of a USO tour last year to Iraq. I watched a Special on that tour on CMT.  He brought a little bit of home to those military personnel so far away from home during the holidays. The trip was tough on him and he lost his voice. He still put on shows for the personnel.

Gonna change the tone, with no disrepect fer anyone.

This popped inta ma head taday fer no good reason.  Lil is gettin convinced that I was preserved in ice fer 80 years when I mentioned it.  She never heard of it but sure enough there it was on the You Tube.  Somethin I'm guessin no one ever 'spected ta see or hear in this thread.  This one goes waaaay back...

Leo, That one was a little before my time. The only thing that I remember that my dad told that Barney Google was a cartoon comic strip character i n the 20s and 30s.

I knew about Barney Google just because of my comics, and I always like to know the history of stuff.  Rumor has it Barney was inspiration for a certain mouse that took over the world.
