Leo, I like the Brian Setzer version better ;D

Saw him do it live when the Stray Cats were still tagether.  Don't think he ever recorded it til he got his orchastra.  I was a HUGE  fan.  What bugged me when I saw him do it with the Cats was that he used a flanger pedal.  We were there ta see a rockabilly show an it just kinda didn't sit right.

If ya look at that Youtube, there's a guy who does it accoustic--plays both parts all on his lonesome.  You can tell where it's a bit tough fer him, but it sounds sweet.  Worth a look if you love that tune.

Enjoy, besides, MMM and Suzy Boggus, you'll see Don Edwards and Waddie Mitchell.

I always wanted to grow me a handlebar mustache.  I tried once, but lost patience.  That and the stupid bare spot right in the middle. ::)

Yep, Suzy Bogguss is right purty.  This was the first time that I got to put a face to the voice and I was not disappointed.

Here's my favorite right now, very poetic in what it says.  First time I heard it I cried in my truck, not very "manly" but you know what, something like that deserves it.  I've brought home a few friends to that rolling field, to Fiddler's Green, and played TAPS at their funerals, since I was/am the trumpet player.  Here's hoping I won't have anymore, that'd be the best Christmas gift I could ever hope to ask for.

Arlington by Trace Adkins

never thought that this is where I'd settle down,
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown,
They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men,
for a job well done.

There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road,
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home,
They folded up a flag, and told my mom and dad, 'We're proud of your son'.

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones,
I made it to Arlington.

I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight,
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay,
And when we finally found that cross,
He said, 'Son this is what it cost, to keep us free'.
Now here I am a thousand stones away from him,
He recognized me on the first day I came in,
And it gave me a chill, when he clicked his heels, and saluted me.

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
And I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones,
I made it to Arlington.

And every time I hear, twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home, to us.

We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done,
We can rest in peace, 'cause we were the chosen ones,
We made it to Arlington, yea, dust to dust
Don't cry for us, we made it to Arlington.
At 25, you need to follow dreams or you'll regret it later.

Reckon it’s time fer us ta share carrols. This’n always wells me up……..

Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire

Chipmunks roasting on an open fire
Hot sauce dripping from their toes
Chipmunks: Oh! That tickles!
Yuletide squirrels fresh filleted by the choir
They poked hot skewers through their nose
Chipmunks: Ow! Wrong end, cowboy!
Everybody knows some pepper and a garlic clove
Help to make them seasoned right
Tiny rats with a crisp golden coat
Will really hit the spot tonight

And now when Santa sees his tray
Santa: Ho ho ho ho ho
There'll be some homemade chipmunk jerky for his sleigh
Santa: Mmmm…Hey, look at that!
And every hungry child is gonna spy
To see if chipmunks really sing when they fry
And so I'm brushing on some honey glaze
To keep them crisp and juicy too
Let's hope they get served many times many ways
Tasty Chipmunks; good food

Dave: On that, Mr. Cole
Mr.Cole: Yes, sir, Mr. Seville?
Dave: Would you mind handing me the barbeque sauce? I am starved!
Mr.Cole: Oh,no problem Dave. Hey listen, you best be havin' two of those drumsticks, because they're oh-so-tiny and there ain't much meat on ‘em
Melvin: What about animal rights, Dave?
Dave: Put a sock in it Melvin. You know, for years people said you over-rated hamsters were my meal ticket. Now I guess you could just say you're my meal!
That's a good one, Dave…I always knew you was the funny one in the group!
Dave: Damn straight!

And so I'm offering some recipes
From chipmunk pie to chipmunk stew
I'm not really sad that it ended this way
Furry chipmunks screw you

Dave: Did you hear that Melvin? Melvin? Melllllllllllviiiiiiiiiiiin?
Mr. Cole: Why, I'm sorry Dave, did you want Melvin? There's plenty of Thagadore left though…

Chipmonk drippins (not droppins) make some mighty fine gravy I'll wager.

another one of Bob Rivers great Christmas songs

(Parody of Aqualung by Jethro Tull)

Sitting in a department store
Bribing little kids with peppermint
Sweat on his bulbous nose
Rubber boots and silly velvet clothes
Hey, Santa Claus
Steaming like a roast duck
Spitting out of pieces of his bearded fluff
Hey, Santa Claus

Do what you’re told and mind your dad and mommy
And I’ll put a little puppy ‘neath your tree
Santa Claus my friend
Did you think this job was easy?
You poor old sod,
You jolly S.O.B.

In the first week of December
They’ll come to crush his knees
When the kids are tugging upon his beard,
He screams in agony
Schnapps’ll stick on his dog breath
His belly’s big and round
And he’ll dress up like a rabbit in the spring
Ho ho ho ho

Fa la la la
Fa la la la la la la la
Fa la la la la la la
Fa la la la

Sitting in a Wal-mart
Giving out canes of peppermint
Spitting out his ho ho ho’s
Sticky fingers smearing rented clothes
Hey Santa Claus
Dying in that hot suit
Ho ho ho ho Santa Claus
