Thought I shot my toes off.

I gots the privilege of shootn' with ol Cohagen this coming weekend at "Hang Um High".  We have more fun than the gamers.  Both of us shoot enuf powder to make good smoke.  Cohagen runs ROAs with C&B better than a Civil War hero.  He hits where he points 'em too.  Last weekend Cohagen shot at least one clean match.

All kiddin' aside, from what I've seen, Holy Black is makin' a serious comeback.  It'll be interestin' to see what percentage of pards are makin smoke at HUH.  I KNOW that my tent will have Three BP shooters in it.

Let the white smoke roll.

Explain please, D.D. Down here in my parts a person can't convince anybody to shoot Holy Black. They all say "I ain't shootin' that crap!!" Imagine if they had to live in the real Old West.

Howdy Kid,

Some pards just can't be saved.  They will continue in their wicked ways with piff-ting heathen smokeyless fad ammo no matter what enlightenment we bring to them.  Converts usually will start out by askin' questions.  They will show an interest in learning what we are doing and how we do it.  Them are the ones ya wants to strap some guns onto and hand 'em some ammo loaded with Genuine Powder.

Also, watch for equipment failures.  They have plenty of 'em.  If a gun dies, offer the pard one of yours.  Of course tell 'em it will only work with a steady diet of Holy Black and that if they shoot heathen ammo it will choke up just like the gun they had been shootn' that died from the stuff.  You get lots of 'em that way.

Then, when yer loadin' up some ammo, invite 'em over to yer ranch to see how easy it's done.  Also, when cleanin' up yer guns don't be afraid to compare yer clean guns to their dirty ones.  Heathen shooters seldom have clean guns.

The funny thing about that match is that I forgot to tell the score keeper that I was shooting as a "Thundercolt's Renegade".  In other words, I was hootin' hollarin' duckin' smoke and shootn' from cover.  I had so much fun that I never looked at my score.  Just goes to show ya that it pays to forget the clock and have a good time shootin' yer own game.

I'll be doin' the same thing this weekend at "Hang 'Um High".

I was the first BP cowboy at my club and was shooting in a field of "one" for many years, and I've heard all the comments from praise to scorn along with the wheezing, coughing, etc. However, I've noticed the "true faith" has rubbed off on others the last few years and I'm proud to say we've started a trend.
We're also having our first-ever BP-only (subs allowed) match coming in October.
