Scalloped edge finish

I'm making a set of spur straps with scalloped edges and can't figure out a good way to finish the scalloped edges...so far they are unburnished.

I created the edges by cutting a 3/8" hole punch in half and punching along the edge.

Any ideas or useful techniques out there?

I could get in there with my short section of cotton fire hose, but that would change the nice regularity of the radius on the scalloped cuts. You might be able to do it with a pointy piece of antler or lignum vitae.

I would actually refrain from any more than a gentle buff over on that fine an edge.  If your punch was good and sharp the edge should actually be rather smooth and have a degree of rounding on top from the downward pressure made by a punching cut.  Mr Ghormley offers some of these designs in his pattern packs and could probly give some good info on final finish if you contact him.

I am thinking leaving as it is - at least on the scalloped edge...I'll post some photos when I get done and you pards can tell me what you think.

You could burnish it a bit with a toothpick in a dremel tool.
