Howdy to the camp,

I will be absent from the list for about two weeks, as I am moving to Illinois.  My internet access at school ended last friday, and will be sporadic through the move.  Email me, and I will catch up with you then.

Can't wait to leave the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia!

I'm right behind you but if you think Illinois is much better.....I think you have another think coming. Especially around Cook County and Chicago.
Hope you are headed south or west The further west in Illinois one can get ...isn't too bad if you can cross the river and be in Missouri.
I used to live in Quincy and it wasn't too bad.
After yesterday with all the crap to go thru to get a longgun shipped to my FFL here from Wash. St. I'm ready to leave too.

But I did finally buy my Henry in 45LC.

Have a good trip and we'll be looking fer yer smoke cloud when you get there.

Be safe.

Yeah.  I spent a year and a half in Alton, ILL.  NOw I know why the Union had a prison there during the war.

They didn't want to mess up a good place with a rebel prison.

;)

Long days and pleasant nights,

My girlfriend is from Illinois, so I can't badmouth it.  ;D

Good luck with the move, and get back soon.

You should just come across the border to Indiana.  We have great gun laws here.  You can get a life hand gun permit here now.  There are also NCOWS and SASS clubs around central Indiana.

Dead Eye Don,
Maybe I should just come HOME! then. Born and raised at Redkey, late of Indy. Haven't lived there since 1991.

I miss Indiana in the spring with the Hickory smells in the air as you drive by a woods. And Grass.

I spent my childhood roaming the woods around Redkey and Dunkirk Indiana. Above and east of Muncie.

I don't miss the cold winters though.  But you can't have everything I guess.

Charlie,  The Great Lakes Freight and Mining Company shoots at Modoc.  Seems to be close to your old stomping grounds!

Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

Welcome to Illinois! What part are ya taking residence in? There are are two clubs here in the Quad Cities area. Shoot me an email if you are close and I'll get ya what info ya need!

Now for the dreaded Illinois Foid card. When ya get here, get your drivers licence and immediatley get your Firearms Owners Identification card. Ya can't own a firearm, buy a firearm or buy or posses ammunition with out it!

Tuolumne Lawman

Well, been here about a month and getting caught up.  I got my Illinois DL in April when I flew out for a long week enddd, and sent for my FOID immediately.  I was waiting for me when I arrived mid-june.  I wanted the FOID so I could get my AR built before they passed a pending ban.  The ban never happened.  Democrats in Southern Illinois belong to IRSA and NRA!~

Compared to the draconian laws in CA, Illinois (south of KOOK KOUNTY and Khicago) Illinois is much better.  Here I can buy any gun (AR, AK, Glock, etc) and capacity magazine, etc.  Jerseyville, IL population about 8,000 has two full service gun shops!

I'm glad you are back Tuolumne.  I missed your informative posts while you were moving.

Gripmaker

Instead of staying in Il., you had better get across the River into MO. Our Governor just signed a "Castle" law that inclided a provision which states we no longer are required to obtain a concealed weapon permit to buy handguns anymore. That aught to frost the "b-lls" of the St Louis area Chiefs who have normally turned down way too many lawful requests.  Still have to go through a NICS check at dealer but that has always been the easy part here. Ain't God good?

Gripmaker

TL, I should have read the second page of posts before I sent the previous reply. Look up a fellow by the name of Robert Little who lives in Jerseyville. New to any kind of CAS but is quite a learner and keeps up on the latest. He has seen your posts and thinks you look alot like that Ogelsby kid over near Springfield. Gosh, I sure hope not. Have known Bob for about 60 yrs and he has turned out to be a pretty good fellow. If you see him tell him Gripmaker said "Howdy!"

Howdy,

Have that Jerseyville Pard call me:

I will cure him of any illusion of grandeur he may have of me<g>!
