Greetings.

I have a Uberti Navy '62 with 7 1/2" barrel but see that Pietta has a '62 with an 8" barrel.  Which configuration is "right?"  Want to get either 2 of the Piettas or 1 more Uberti..($ wise I will probably go with one more Uberti, but the Pietta is pretty neat too.

Love those Colt percussion revolvers.  I consider them a form of art.

I have '51 Navy, '60 Army, '62 Navy and a "62 Pocket revolver.  Also have a couple of Remingtons, a 44 New Army and 36 new navy...nice pieces too but don't have the allure to me of them old Colts.

Thanks.

The Colt Pocket Navy was a five shot originally, not six and barrel lengths varied but 7.5" was the max I believe.

Man...I meant a '61 Navy comparison.....SM

7.5" barrel is historically correct for '61 Navy.

Back in the good old days Colt would make any barrel length you wanted.  I wouldn't let a half-inch worry you about "historic correctness."  I have had both (and still have an original 61 Navy) and the new Piettas are very well made.  Several years ago I would pick a Uberti without question as two Piettas I had weren't nearly as nice.  However, I would gladly buy either nowadays.

I just got a Pietta 51 silver grip frame that is a really nice gun. I shot it right out of the box and had no problems. I will take it to my next monthly match just as it is.

Pietta makes a great gun anymore.

Uberti does also.

About = I  would say
