-----
RARE REMINGTON MODEL 1875 EGYPTIAN CONTRACT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Remington CF. SN 635. Believed to be the finest Egyptian Contract 1875 extant, this revolver has blued finish with 7-1/2" rnd bbl, pinched post front sight, blued iron triggerguard and 2-pc walnut grips with a lanyard loop in the butt. Both grips have matching penciled serial numbers inside. The left side of the frame by the bbl is stamped with an "R" and it has a corresponding small star on the bbl and a matching "R" on cyl. These marks signify Egyptian contract. This rare revolver is one of the 10,000 pieces contracted from Remington in 1875 which, to date, only a few have been discovered.
