I posted this poll over on the Henry Rifle Forum but Rawhide Rio gave me permission to post it on the USFA forum  as well.

We all know the quality USFA puts into their firearms so the poll is real simple..

Would you be interested in a American made, USFA Henry Rifle Copy/Clone if it was a copy of the original Henry or at least as close as the Uberti Henry, and offered at a fair price say...under $1500.00 MSRP?

somewhat better selection on the yes answers  ;)

Bill, I voted "hell yes", but I am totally happy with my Uberti as it's very authentic IMO. There's really not a lot I'd change on the Uberti Henry. I just don't want USFA to bite off more than they can chew & become like Uberti has lately, meaning introducing so many models that their production can't keep pace, e.g., Richard Type II conversion.

I voted on the the other poll,  but did here also since you added HELL YES!  Deadeye.

Well, I voted "hell yes" as well but share Fox Creek Kid's concerns about USFA.  I would be perfectly happy if they just stuck to the SAA's.  I would hate to see quality drop as a result of expanding the line and that always seems to be what happens.

I believe it would be highly unlikely that the quality of a USFA product would drop if they branched out into other firearms.  A company like USFA would not let that happen.  If they felt they wanted to make a repro Henry, then rest assured it would be done well with no decrease in the quality of their other lines.    If USFA thought they could not branch out without sacrificing what they already make,  I am sure they would not do it.  IMHO.  Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

Sorry boys....too late a time period for me....We're talking Henry here, not a rifle you can see in just about every B western on TV.

Seth has a point about the Uberti Henry.  It is very well made.  I would be interested to see what USFA could do to improve on the Uberti model with regards to fit, caliber and wood stock.  Deadeye.

Seth....Deadeye...,
I agree...I love my Uberti Henry...The purpose behind the poll is to support an American made copy of the Henry.....

There's always room in my collection for one more gun - especially if it's American Made and as beautiful as the Henry.

You know, a USFA-made limited production 3-gun cased set consisting of a pair of 1871-72 Open Tops and a 1860 Henry, chambered for 44 Colt/Russian, would look mighty fine displayed in my gun room. ;)

Too bad 44 Henry rimfire ammo isn't available. :'(

Ok now I am starting to drool.

Seth I don't want to steel your 3 gun cased set. My suggestion is however due to need of niche guns:
1 Thuer conversion Army (.44 Thuer brass shell to be provided)
1 Richards (I) conversion Army (.44 Colt caliber), and
1 Henry (.44 Colt/Russian caliber).
No respected manufacturer just cares to make a decent clone of the Thuer and RI!

We know that our industry friends only understand sales estimates or better still off-take commitments by the gun dealers. Therefore these polls are important. They need to be presented to decision takers at our favorite gun factories.
As an afterthought I am wondering why Uberti is extending their line towards the RI (I am not suggesting a discussion about availability of the RII, please): they already have the barrel assembly from the RII project. In additon it might not be that difficult a task do work on the old ASM Richards conversion rings to fit them into the frame of an RII. One could also make use of the old ASM Richards hammers...
On the other hand what might be the sales potential for a Thuer clone between USA and Europe - 100 units when made by Uberti and 40 made by USFA (assuming a premium price)? Or for the RI clone - 250 units and 150 units respectively? It might not be worth tooling-up (don't want to sound pessimistic).
