Wild Mustang

After visitin' this SCORRS site for a while I decided to go to my favorite gun store and see what they had. Cruising by the black powder counter I kept hearing someone or something whispering "Hey, over here" over and over so had to find out who/what it was. To make a long story short it just happened to be a nice new '58 Remmy. So I told the guy "let me see that one" and once I picked it up I had no choice but to say "I'll take it" and of course you also have to get some powder, lube, caps, and some .44 cal. roundies just to make it a complete package. After a little cleaning I just had to try it and "what a blast" (no pun intended). So I guess that now I am hooked for life with my Remmie and shootin' the Holy Black. Do I now qualify for a SCORRS membership?

A couple years ago, at a KVC shoot, I notice that Trap & Duck Creek Dave were both shooting Remingtons. [copies]

I asked Trap how many he had.  He thought for a moment and said five.

I then ask Duck Creek how many he had, and he said seven.

From then I started razzing Trap about catching up in the "Remington War." ;D

At the time I did not own a single Remington.  I now have five. ::) ;D

Shucks, I on ly have two!  A gated Uberti 1858 Remington 45 Colt factory conversion and a forged frame 1858 Uberti with percussion and Kirst Konverter.  If you really want to get infected, try the Kirst or R&D to convert it to a to 45 Colt cartridge revolver.Bot are good, though I prefer the KIrst.  35 grains of Goex behind a 255 grain bullet!!  Shazammmm!

Yes, indeed, the fever can hit you...

I have Ubertis, two 8 inch and two 5-1/2 inch 44s, with R&D 45 conversions, two 7-3/8 inch 36s with Kirst 38 conversions, and a Carbine, which will accept the 45 conversion.  I have a shoulder stock to fit one of the Ubertis.

Also, Piettas, two blue and two stainless 44s.  R&D conversions in the blued guns, which have Ruger mainsprings.

Have two Kirst 45 cylinders to mate with the backplates that came with the 38 conversions, to fit any 44.

For the rest of the stable, an 1875 in 45 Colt, and and 1890 in 45 colt and one in 357.

I must also blame SCORRS for getting me hooked on Remingtons. My EMF 1875 is a dream.

I'm giving it new grips as a birthday present:

I wanted Tru Ivories, but these are uh ... cheaper.  ;D

I blame no one, but myself for my Remy replicas cause I wanted a cowboy gun other than the Peacemaker.  Like Tuolumme, I have two. A gated Uberti 1858 Remington 45 Colt factory conversion (named Preacher) and an 1875 45 Colt (named Boss).  I'm still getting the bugs worked out of them both, but when they are on the operational side, they are the most accurate guns I own.   Now, if I could only get my "boys" to be working together... :)

Wily Musbang ... oops!  Wild Mustang, Howdy!

Welcome to our sickness ... affliction ... hobby ... group ... club ... uhh, organization.  Like you, my Remingtons called to me and demanded satisfaction.  I have a heavily modified Pietta 1858 and 2 1875s.  All I need is an 1890.  And a baby Remmie.  And another 1858 with full-length barrel.  And perhaps a Remington Carbine.  And ...

My wife says I need them like I need another  hole in my head.  ::)

I only have four Remmies..................................................................................................I feel so inadequate

Marshal Tac

I only have two, but I also have the conversions from R&D, so it's almost like having 2 pistols in one! I fell in love with mine too, and now, I have 5 or 6 Colt clones collecting dust....

I only have one 1858 Remy w/conversion cylinder but after I put all this together, I wanted another one,so....I thought something was wrong with me until I read this post or is this some kind of sickness? Do they have a program or rehab for Remy shooters? Dusty.

YOu know... it's funny.  I go to the gun shop.  And I walk past whole cases of S&W, Springfield Arms, others and go right to the REmmys.  It used to be the other way around.  I shudder to think what'll happen when I actually get around to buying a converter.  I'm kinda scared.  Somebody hold me...

You know, I'm thinking I need a 5 1/2" forged frame Uberti to put the Kirst in...  That would give me three

Remember, you will need another one yet. They have to be in even pairs. ;D
