Olive oil does not turn bad, so no refrigeration needed. It has been used as a wood treatment, leather treatment, food preservative. . . you name it, since time out of mind.

That's him been doing Business with him 20 odd years... he's often was a outlet for left over Movie prop guns.
Mostly just carry guns to equip cast... some were NIB never even opened.
He sold all of the Brown Bess's from "Alamo PoF " , several of the Colt's and Remy's & knives from "Into the West"

I asked about the refrigeration because I had some go rancid , but it might be the humidity and/or the canola oil anyway it turned white and spotty in the jar....
I kinda knew it was a dumb question because they found clay jars of it in Egyptian tombs... course I don't know if it was good ???

I'll get some Pompeian... I'd like to find one of the little silver needle tip oilers for my kit... I wonder if they are repo'ed loose outside of cased sets ?

I figured as much with BB. Remember I got one of your guns from him it was in The movie Ironclads. Or another one from another movie. I had one from you and one from him I thinkl? Been a long time.

Any good name brand Olive Oil will work. even the off brands if not mixed with canola.

I wonder if Dixie has those oiler tins?? Guess I'll look and see. I remember seeing them somewhere recently.

Not one of the BIG guns I trust  ;D
I made the Cannon for "Ironclads"  though three were left over from "Glory" (the 32 Pounders).
The Brooks , 9" & 11" er Dahlgren molds were all pull for "Ironclads"
Most are at Ft. Mifflin on display now...

The last Guns BB sold for me were from "Into the West" all Taylor Uberti's 60 Armirs & 58 Remmy's

I've seen those can's too... somewhere,  looked like it was little square silver ink bottle

It was a Remy from "Into the West", and the Navy belt, frog and cartridge case I got from you  came from Ironclads. one of the Pietta's Remy's came from there too I think. Heck I forget.
Nope none of the Big guns.

I remember the Holster belt , frog & box...

I had several Confederate cutlasses & US Ames Cutlasses too..
The Confederate look like Roman short swords... they were heavy brass handled and bright steel ...
We sold all of them... but the Conf. cuttlasses went like wild fire....

I'm on the track of a cool little oiler... Looks like silver but it SS witha screw on cap..

Well, according to amazon/usps, one of my books is in.  I had also ordered Old Guns and Whispering Ghosts, which will probably be in tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it had to come in on a day that I spend 12 hours at work. :(  Well, it's something to look forward to when I get home.

Huh, I never saw all of Into the West.  What I saw of it was very, very good.  I thought about getting the series on DVD for my dad for Father's Day; of course, I'd need to borrow it at some point. ;)  Much like I borrowed his copy of Open Range, and he borrowed my copy of Serenity and Firefly.

Speaking of books, I talked to the author of the new Remington Large Bore Conversions Book. He told me that, before he died, Bruce McDowell bought up a lot of his books because he was going to do a second edition. I wonder if those books will or have come on the market yet?

A new copy , if you can find one, is around $400.00 from Amazon, and $250.00 or so used. Well worth the money, but I'm really glad my Pard in K.C. made me buy one when they came out for $40.00. No mine isn't for sale at any price...just yet.

BTW I bought the new Remy book and eagerly await it's arrival. I had him autograph it. Hope for his sake that his book does the McDowell thing.

Okay, something I realized last night while flipping through this book, the grips to the 1860 Army look almost like the Bisley Grips.  I had never noticed that, all that I had noticed while holding one was that the Navy grips were smaller and I could better get my bottom fingers around it.
So, which one do you guys prefer, Navy or Army???  Does one seem to point better than the other?
I especially like the looks the Richards Transition Model that Cimarron has.

" ....I especially like the looks the Richards Transition Model that Cimarron has."  ;D you mean doesn't have !

Ha !  I've had one on order since 2/06 their not here yet.. well one is, the one I handled at Shot Show !
I expect the line is long, I'm # 6 on the list (I'm tolded).. :-\
Wolf (Bootsie) has his in Germany though  ::)

I prefer the Army grip frame ... feels better in my hand they point great for me..
It feels nothing like a Bisley though

Gday from Down under.
I just acquired my pair of 1871/2 opentops Army grips which are a perfect accompanyment to my Vaqueros and my Old Armys. They are the most accurate Cowboy guns Ive ever owned straight out of the box and fired fast at that, well fast for me anyway But the single screw that fixes the unloading rod tends to loosen and then they get out of sync for extracting the shells Hell you just dont find perfection any more

Charlie, I e-mailed the publisherwho replied that there are no plans to re-issue the McDowell book.
