Well I finally got it scanned from the original.

I tried to attach a .bmp of a Henry label copied from an original in Schuey's book on Winchester boxes, but the attachment size is too small. Email me direct at <imarangemaster@yahoo.com> for a .bmp file.  Attached is a compressed sample, but you should get the full size.

If I recall it is good from about 1863 on.  The green field is oversized, so rather than resizing with all the green, trim the green area outside the lines to size.

I used this on the Following Pioneer Products boxes, with minor re-sizing: .45 Colt, .45 Schofield , and 44-40.

Enjoy!

As a note, the ones during the war were black. Needless to say, there are rare.

Does that mean black with white writing, white with black writing or green with black writing as shown?

The black (actually really dark purple, were 100 round boxes, and were the first. According to Schuey in his book, however, the 50 round boxes with these green labels actually appeared about 1863 and originally had 216 grain bpointed bullets. Sometime in 1863-64 they swithched to flat bullet (same case length) then to the longer case with a flat bullet in 64-65.

In 1866 the green label 50 round box stayed, but the New Haven Arms address of the 1863-1866 boxes was replaced with Winchester Repeating Arms Co. address.

Thanks, T.L. I didn't know that the green ones came out during the war. There is a new definitive book on Winchester boxes for those that are interested. it ain't cheap.

Great book!  Schuey sent me a copy to review for the chronicle.  It is worth every penny.  That's where I got the information.  Before that I thought the green boxes were post war.  If you think about it though, it was right after the war that they change the name to Winchester from New  Haven Arms, and most of the green boxes have New Haven (though some have Winchester).

T.L., for some reason the Henry label comes up different on my PC than the Remington labels you posted in SCORRS & when I print it it comes up as big as a door.  ??? :-\

Howdy,

The remmie labels were a word doc.  Open the picture, right click and copy the image, then paste to a blank word document.  Use the rules on the word to set size. Three should fit on one page.

If you let me know what size the trimmed label needs to be, I will create a word doc with three labels on it for you and email it as an attachment.

4.75" wide by 2.50" height. I glue the labels over the tops of Cheyenne Pioneer Products boxes. Are you software "savvy" enought to "clean up" the 1875 Rem. label to make it print like new? I'm not.

I did what you said but the copy quality came out abyssmal. Super fuzzy.  :'(

Howdy,

Since some folks are having technical problems, I have made a word document with three of the color Henry labels on it.  It is too large to have here as an attachment.  Contact me by email: <imarangemaster@yahoo.com>

Enjoy!
