I posted this on the GAF site and open NCOWS forum:

Thanks to St. George and Dr. Bob Dorian for putting me on to this book last year, "The American Civil War in the Indian Territory" , by Osprey Publications. I was finally able to find it at Barns & Noble this week.  It is a good source for anyone wanting to do an American Indian soldier impression during the civil war on both sides of the conflict.

It mainly deals with the conflict in the Indian Territory but is a good source on the types of clothing, weapons, horse gear they would have worn/used. Good documented photos and it also references additional material not included in the book.

Yip, great book.I think all of the Osprey books are worth to read.A lot of history.
For those who wants to know a little more about the Indian Territory in the CW,take a look at the  thread 'Fort Laramie and the U.S. Army on the High Plains 1849-1890'.There is a very interessting part from Ft.Laramie in the CW.
