Howdy ya'll

I bought me a Pietta 1860 snubbie last year and shoot it every now and then. But I plan to shoot it more this summer. Haven't seen any others at matches and just wondered if anybody else has these pistols and shoot them??
Might have to get me a second one and shoot the pair in a match. That would be way cool!!

You probably want to post this in the Darkside forum. This forum is for cartridge guns.  ;)

I have cut two to 5-1/2 inches, but shoot them as Kirst conversions.  If I were to use a cap & ball snubbie, I would probably buy a barrel from Ebay or VTIgunparts.com and cut that down, so the original is still intact.  If it's really short, reload it with a cylinder loading stand, snubbie's levers (if they have one) are too short to be practical.

See the "Cylinder Loading Stand" under "Bullet Extras" at the website BigLube.com

You can also throw in a drop-in conversion cylinder and make things easier for a CAS match.

There are plenty of cap & ball threads in this Opentop group, and plenty of knowledgable people respond, probably more than in the Dark Side group.

If you will check STORM under that forum list,,,STORM is not exclusive to cartridge guns.
Blackpower OT's ,it says, are welcome.

I thought open tops meant all Colts just like the Scorrs site is for all Remingtons.

Figured anybody that had one would be on this site.

I made a loading press for mine. Not hard and works great. But thinking of getting a couple more cylinders to help at matches.

VTI has 3" barrels for Pietta 1860s - I got one already, but VTI only recently got it in stock.  They include a 3" barrel for 1861 Navy, too, but I don't know if they have 'em in stock.  BTW They don't have loading levers.
