He doesn't ... I checked for you... sold it a few weeks ago.
The supply has dried up... they are not a standard run, in that Uberti does not run them all the time.
Richard (FFL) said he orders one or two when they are available, and they sell out quickly.

Try Buffalo Arms. (Idaho).  Their website shows a fluted Cimarron (which I think is Uberti make), for $264.  It does not say whether they have any in stock.  Hope this helps.

Did you ever find a 'fluted' '60Army yet ?

Uberti must be running way behind on some models,,,,,well quite a few models actually.

Some of the RM Conversions are not out there either....there is suppose to be a 4 3/4 RM Army conversion comming,,,,but,,evidently no one in the states has one right now...not that I can find.

If I hear of a fluted '60 Army somewheres, i'll sure let ya know. I checked with Taylors and Cimarron today about a revolver,,and asked about a fluted '60,,just to see if they had one come in for ya,,,but,,,no go,,,,,

My inquiries have turned up no 61 Navies or 60 Armies.  I have heard anywhere from 30 to 90 days, depending on what gets shipped.  It's Big Timber Time, I tell ya!! ;D

Marshal Deadwood

I think that 90 day thing is a automated reply. Sure seems to be the standard response to inquires bout a new gun nowdays.

Yes,.big timber time would be good,,,,

Thanks Marshal Deadwood , and everyone else. I guess that I'll settle on a standard 1860 for now , and see how bad I still think that I want another one if they ever become available again.

Mr Hancock,,,it seems our Italian friends tend to show items that arent there,,and wont be for awhile.

Being a HUGE fan of the '60 Army, I can relate. That is my fav gun,,I wish you well in your quest...

Every man outta have a brace of '60Armys,,,but,,ya know,,you said you had one fluted ?  I think that would be kinda neat to have a mixed pair....

One thought, Hancock, since you are considering purchase of a "standard 1860" because the market for fully fluted pieces seems dry: www.collectorsfirearms.com in Houston are offering a "Belgian" Copy of an 1860 Army together with Stock, in their modern guns/CAS section. This specific one is a Centaur manufactured pistol and is a steal if the quality is OK! In addition I have never seen a Centaur 1860 with a factory shoulder stock but all I inspected hat the frames cut for shoulder stock.
Many do not know it but the story goes that these Centaur 1860s were produced during the 1960/70s in Belgium under a Colt license from the 19th century!
Provided they are not from the late 1970 productions runs manufacturing and shooting quality is top with specs very close to the originals. In Europe they are highly sought after collector's pieces.
They were available in 8" and 5" barrel configuration, with rebated and fully fluted cylinders, in carbon and a few even in stainless steel. Most are 8" barrel, rebated cylinder without engraving and carbon steel, if one finds them at all. Few were factory engraved, even fewer engraved with gold inlays. They could be had with the normal rebated cylinder plus and additional engraved cylinder with unique Centaur engraving.

One thing I noted, as I own three fluted Armies and a Navy.  Since the fluting goes the full length of the cylinder, it extends into the area of the cylinder locking bolt.  (Unlike the Pocket Navies, which were half fluted, and had to be as they were 5-shot cylinders).

If your bolt timing dropps too early, the bolt stud must climb the flute as the cylinder rotates to get to the notch on the cylinder, making cocking hard (and hard on the hand/pawl).  Make sure the timing on the full fluted gun is dropping the bolt no earlier than into the notch's leade cut.

Of course an early drop will also ring the cylinder (look at a Ruger sometime), but it will ring or mark the fluted cylinder harder.

If your bolt drop is late, it will miss the notch entirely, and the cylinder is more likely to overtravel, or overtravel further, as there will be no braking action in the fluted area.

Not at all to disparage fluted Armies or Navies, I love the look of them, just a note to keep your action timing in tune.

I too, am warming up to the idea of a "mixed pair" , especially since I read your reply, and ordered a Uberti Standard 1860 from Midway this morning. In stock , be here on Monday.

Thanks all

I too am an 1860 Army aficionado.... ohhhhh big word  ;D

It is my very favorite, I own several
1. Original 3 screw circa 1862 ( issued to the 5th. Iowa Cavalry )
2. two second Gen. Colts circa 1978 & 1980  ( the 78 with an R&D Cyl and Ivory Grips, I bought it new 29 years ago)
3. two first model Conversions ( one by Dave Anderson for USPFA the other by Kenny Howell )
4. one army gripped OT...
I've had two Uberti Fluted, both were excellent right out of the box ( one I traded towards the Anderson 1st. Model )
the other.... well I sold it  :'(

yeah aficionado works here  :D

If you just can't find a fluted 1860, buy a standard one and then order a fluted cylinder from VTIgunparts.com.

https://www.vtigunparts.com/ab2240000Equick/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=79&cat=Uberti+1860+Army+%2E44cal

The part number is 041005, price is $75.00.  They usually just drop in.  Just check the timing per my earlier comments.
